We (myself, hubby, DS 15 and DD 13) were at BCV in a studio (414) from 6/29 thru 7/11. We had a great time!! Here's a quick synopsis of lessons learned:

- Take hangers!! My hubby thought I was nuts but I took enough hangers to hang all shirts, shorts & pants. The only things in the drawers were socks & undies & PJs! There really isn't much drawer space in the studio but the closet & lots of hangers worked out great! There are a few hangers in the closet but it was easier to take my own.

- Ants We saw red ants by the balcony door for the first couple days. Engineering came up and sprayed for them and we didn't have a problem after that. We also saw black ants on the countertop in the kitchen area several times. As long as we were scrupulously clean, they disappeared. Because of this, I didn't cook in the room.

- Best place to get take-out We found Beaches & Cream to be crowded, even for take-out. We discovered the ESPN Club at the Boardwalk. I walked into the bar (past a HUGE line) and ordered from the bartender and the food was ready to go in 10 minutes even though the place was PACKED! I even paid with my room key!

- Room requests are still granted. We checked in early on Sunday morning. All our requests were met and I had 5 on the ressie! Let's see - non-smoking (medical), non-handicapped, any floor above 1st, close to laundry, close to Epcot walkway.

- We LOVE this resort!! We do not, for even one moment, regret the money we've spent to buy points here. In fact we hope to add on at some point.

I'm glad it worked out so well for you:D You made good use of your requests, since you were not overly specific. Had you requested room 408, for example, you might have been disappointed in one or more requests. You did a nice job! Congratulations and welcome home again(once you buy those extra points):p

We checked in early the morning of the 29, too. A third person on this forum did too but I can't remember whom. Glad you got your requests and that you had a great trip.

Great hint about takeout from ESPN. We're not fans of B&C either. I also discovered you can get takeout sandwiches from Crew's Cup by Yachtsman's from 12-5.

Glad you enjoyed your stay at BCV. Dh and I also enjoy staying there and get a studio to make our points last longer. LIke you, we're thrilled with our 'new home'. Congrats!!!!:earsgirl:  :earsboy:

We stayed in a BCV studio for the first time the first week of May and really enjoyed it. No ants, thank goodness. Thanks for the info on take-out from ESPN. Never would have thought of it. We go to HH in August and BWV in October and will definitely get some ESPN take-outs then if the lines are long.

May at OKW and July at Yacht club, never saw an ant. Guess we're just lucky.Or very clean:-)

Hey, great hint about the ESPN club! ALthough, my dh and 2 sons would be HIGHLY bummed to miss out on a trip to the Lost Boys Club (the boys think TVs in the toilets are the HEIGHT of coolness!) My dd and I would love to just eat our wings anywhere, thanks, and avoid a wait!

With a fam of 4 in a studio, did you find it at all tight? My sil and her family are OKW owners and they may get a studio for their fam of 4 too (two adults, two teen girls). Will it be cramped for them? (They do love their OKW space, tho' perhaps not QUITE as decidedly as oh, say, Richyams...) If a family had one child and one baby, is there somewhere to set up the porta crib? (My other sil and her 2 smaller kids may need a studio, rather than bunk with us in our 2 br.)

THanks for the positive post...

Cindy

WOW
2 Weeks in a studio with 2 teenagers you guys must be a saints, who slept in the bathtub.
It certainly is a great way to promote family togetherness.

We were in room 416 over Christmas. I love having the laundry right across the hall. I could sneak over in my PJ's!!!!! We never heard any noise either.

KarenB, we were in #412 last summer and LOVED it... close to the elevators and I felt like the laundry room was mine personally! Also loved the pool view and as since BCV was just openeng, no ants had moved in yet...

We'll be back in a studio next summer... I gotta stretch the points while I can!

Glad to hear you had such a good trip at home! :)

Thanks for the tip about ESPN Cafe - love the pulled pork sandwiches there! :)

CK1 - We had no problems with 4 of us in the studio. As soon as we got up, we folded the sofa bed back up into a sofa. During the day or evening, if one of us wanted some time away, we could always go to the pool or read in the Drawing Room or Solarium. Several times, I took my wine cooler and book to the Drawing Room - heavenly!!

skelooch - We do all get along well. The kids, in spite of being 15 yr old boy and 13 yr old girl, usually really enjoy each others' company. We did take the twin size aero bed. Son slept on the sofa bed and daughter slept on the aero bed placed between the sofa bed and queen bed. During the day, we propped the aero bed up against the wall.

DeeP - We looked out over the pool. I found the view pleasant. I guess if you were really looking hard, you'd notice the parking lot but my eyes were always drawn to the lovely blue water of the pool!!

KarenB - The convenience of the laundry room was WONDERFUL! I also wandered over in bare feet & PJs. However, I noticed that the laundry room was always crowded in the evenings, even until late at night. I am an early riser and got up to do wash at 6 AM. Since the family was sleeping, I took my book over to the laundry room and had it all to myself!

colleen - Know what you mean about stretching those points! We would not hesitate to do two weeks in a studio again.
