My husband and I went to DL/DCA last week and had a great time, well that is when we weren't stopped by a surveyor. Seriously, over the 3 days we were there we must have been stopped to ask to take a survey over 20 times. Best scenario I can give is, we came out of the side entrance gate at the Grand California Hotel (where we stayed) was stopped there, walked around towards Soarin, was stopped there, walked towards the gate to exit, was stopped there, entering DL, stopped, and exiting DL that night stopped. That's 5 times in one afternoon. It was insane, and at one point we were approached and I looked at them and asked, are we going to talk about the restaurants or do you want my email. I understand wanting to "better guest experiences", but this was overkill.

We noticed them especially in DCA in early Nov. but they never stopped us.

Once in DCA near the ride times board there were two of them and I slowed down, made eye contact and smiled and neither one asked us to take the survey. Maybe they had a demographic they were looking for? We didn't have kids.

100% agree. I understand that this is their job, but it just seems to be overkill now. We just got back from WDW and it's the same way. DH and I will usually stop for 1 or 2 of them, just so we can say we've done our part. Sometimes it felt like we were being stalked:rotfl:. You can barely walk through the turnstiles without being asked. The worst was when DS was getting tired and was crying, DH and I are trying to get him to calm down and they were approaching us to take a survey. Seriously, you're really going to ask us right now?! :headache:

They need to give out little stickers. Like you get after giving blood or voting.
So other surveyors will know who has already given their opinion.

I'll participate in the survey a few times but after that I feel it turns into harassment.

I used to get stopped constantly too. I finally decided I needed to quit looking so darn approachable. :rotfl:

As mean as it sounds, I seldom smile at or even make eye contact with the clipboard crew now, and I don't get stopped nearly as often anymore.

You can also go the smile and be friendly but politely decline route. I've done that a time or two as well.

Of course since I just got a survey in my in box yesterday, you know I still occasionally give in. ;)

I agree that it can get to be a bit much!

I did it twice when we were there. I didn't mind. :confused3

I definitely have an approachable face or something, as I'm always the one asked to do surveys or take pictures for people. It was a running joke my last trip with my friend, as both of us are young, curvy white females with brown hair, but every single time someone approached us, they talked to me! :rotfl2: Although I never had it quite as bad as the OP when it comes to surveys :confused3

I got stopped 4 or 5 times in 3 days and I thought that was a lot! I actually enjoyed it. I was always carrying a Duffy or Shellie May bear, and probably had an ear-to-ear grin because I was so excited to be there (with much of the trip courtesy of DIS Unplugged; thanks guys!). Once they even asked me to go into a backstage area in DCA to take a survey over the computer. No one else in my party got stopped at all. I hope Disney listens to my feedback and puts more Duffy around the parks. :flower3:

More than 2 or 3 times in one day is really excessive, though, IMO. They must have really liked your look or something. :confused3 I hope you like the same things I like, if you are giving your opinions to Disney 20 times as a supposed fair representative of the population!

Our last trip was 6 days in the park and by day 3 the folks taking surveys knew me. "Nope, she's taken all of them". LOL. I just have one of those faces. I always get stopped for these. I agree- they were takings LOTS of surveys while we were there.

We got stopped once in November. It was a survey to be sent a survey in the future. I wonder how they choose who to stop. Are they told to look for people in a certain age range or group type (small kids, no small kids, etc)? We always thought the least they could do is give a free drink coupon for stopping. Last trip, my dad was given two Mickey Mouse stickers for his grandchildren though.

I love getting stopped for surveys, but I agree, that many times is definitely too much. DBF and I also did a survey backstage at DCA and had to sign an NDA for the activities we did. It was about a 2 hour "survey" but totally worth the experience. DBF also got stopped for a food survey and got to go behind the Guided Tours building for the rest of his survey. If they take longer than a few minutes, they should really give some better compensation than a sticker though :/

You never know what will happen with those surveys.

Today as we were entering DCA I was stopped and asked if I would participate in a survey. I asked if they needed my email as I had akready participated in that one.

He said well yes but I have a couple of other questions. I said go right ahead. He asked if I was aware of the photopass and would I be interested in answering a future survey by email. I said yes to both and he gave me a Photopass Plus card and CD. Bonus.

So say yes you never know what you may get.
