surprising mom at WDW

All right, so I'm going on a family trip to WDW in January. By family, I mean aunts, uncles, cousins, the works. It WILL be ridiculous! But while I'm there, I want to do something special for my mom, maybe as a Christmas present. However, I'm not quite sure of what to do. I know she wants to go canoeing, but that's not really special, although it'll be fun. So I guess I'm just trying to get some ideas. She's divorced, so no romantic couple dinners. It could be something she could do alone, or we could do together, and I don't have a TON of money (oh those poor college students!). But if you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

They aren't incredibly cheap, but since she likes canoeing, maybe one of the fireworks cruises. (look on the thread for one to share, there are some for January)
There are carriage rides at FW or POR-RS.
You could do dinner in the castle.
Hope these help.

I'll be in WDW with DH and my parents in May, and we'll be there for Mother's Day. I'll be taking my mom out for her favorite fast breakfast-- Earl of Sandwich in PI, and then we'll be getting leg/foot massages at the spa in the GF. The massage comes to $40 each. I don't think breakfast will be more than $15. My dad and DH will be playing golf when we're getting the massages, and then we're all meeting up for lunch at the GF Cafe.

I think canoeing at Fort Wilderness would be very nice. And unexpected. It would make a nice easy day for the two of you. You could get her over there for lunch at Trail's End and then end up going canoeing. Fort Wilderness is a very nice break from everything and you might need it somewhere along the line.

Although I think you may want to go canoeing first. After eating at trails end the only thing I want to dois take a nap!! :rotfl2:
Yum!!

As a Mom, of a recent College Graduate, I would suggest taking the canoe ride with Mom and then just spending the day with her - picnic lunch at Fort Wilderness would be nice! Just knowing you want to do something nice for her and spending the time alone with her will be a wonderful gift!
