I am horrible about surprising my family, especially when it is something that is happy. I couldn't even go two days once we decided to go to DL before telling my kids! I figure I can get a lot of mileage from letting them earn "Disney Dollars" before our trip. ;)

I do want to have some fun surprises while we are there. :yay: I am planning on having "tinkerbell" :tink: visit our hotel room and leave gifts.(I am hoping this will encourage them to walk back to HOJO after being at the park). I am making some t-shirts thanks to the DISign board. I also bought my girls princess dresses to wear to Ariel's Grotto for lunch that will magically show up the day we go. princess:

I am wondering what other fun stuff you have done for children to make the trip magical. We will be driving so I have some room and can hide it well before we leave.

I have DH, DD7, DD5, and DS2 and me that I want to make this extra special for.

I am sooooo excited for our trip I can hardly stand myself!:hyper:

Last time I was there I had little boxes for each land with hats (pirate hats for NO Square, crowns for Fantasyland, etc.) It was fun to all switch hats and get our new treats as moved moved around the park. I just bought cheap paper ones from a local party store.

Maybe pick them up some special pajamas to wear the night before and plan on bringing them with you. They can be their Disneyland jammies! I bought some really inexpensive ones from the Disney Store online. They always have good deals on special little goodies. It is a great way to pick up a few things and save some money.

Also- check out the Dollar Tree (or whatever Dollar store you have). They often have cheap little Disney toys that might be fun for the car ride. My kids have coloring books and crayons, small books (I have two toddlers), puzzles, little plastic figurines, yo-yos, tops, mini-frisbees, sidewalk chalk, and some other things. Granted, you can't use some of those things in the car, but it might be something to play with at home after the trip to continue the magic or beforehand to keep you all excited.

Have tons of fun! :goodvibes When is your trip BTW?

Our walgreens has little disney light-up spinny things... I think they were a buck each... so look whereever you go, you may find goodies!!

I checked the dollar stores and Targets dollar spot, found lots of little things for great prices. Took some glitter and used a Polly Pocket shoe to leave footprints in her glitter. Left something small each night, they loved it!!!!! And it was not $$$$$ at all!

I bought everyone a new t-shirt to wear our first day in the park. They will be packed in their suitcases as a suprise. I got grumpy for DH, classic Mickey for DS7, matching Cinderella's for DD's 2&5 and a Tink for me. I also bought new dresses for Ariel's Grotto and I am making autograph books for each of them to collect their autographs in with a space for pictures too.

How about
glow sticks/necklaces for the parade
pjs
hair clips
small stuffed mickey
markers, coloring books
window clings to play with on the car window
music CD to listen to on the way home (dont give away all your goodies and forget that you have to make it home too :thumbsup2 )

I agree, keep your eye out in each and every store you go into. You will be amazed at what you can find.

Currently Target Dollar Spot has Disney Socks
I bought some small Mickey on scooter toys on clearance at Walmart a while back.
Dollar Tree has had yo-yos, jumpropes, spin tops, small frisbees, princess markers

The last time we went, the Princesses came into our hotel room when we were in the park and left a princess dress for DD each night, for her to wear to the park the next day.

This time, we're going the week before Christmas, and they are going to be finding Christmas presents from the characters every night. Pajamas, shirts, little toys. Mickey's leaving a new camera and a vsmile pocket in the van for the drive up.

I love the tinkerbell footprint idea! So cute!

im gona do the PJ idea for our next trip, we had lightsticks a few for each night. Got some good clothe from disney store online.
doller store and walmart have alot of things to make it more magical.

What a great idea!:thumbsup2

It was fun but it was hard to do with them sleeping right there! LOL I made a few mistakes at first but it got easier as the nights passed. If I had thought of it I would have practiced before we left! LOL
