We were in Disney last week and I was surprised to see a few adults decked out in costumes. One family in particular caught my attention since I saw them a number of times throughout Magic Kingdom. The adults were dressed as Snow White and the prince, complete with wigs and footwear with a little girl dressed as Cinderella. :goodvibes They looked great but I was surprised because I thought it wasn’t allowed. I also caught a couple of glimpses of an adult Cinderella that was obviously not a cast member but she had on a decent costume too.

I am just curious if anyone else has seen costumed adults in the parks? I am curious about this family….I was thinking that maybe they were a Make a Wish family.

Ive never seen an adult wearing a costume at the parks, I have seen adults/older teens turned away at security because they were in costume. Maybe it was something special for that group of people.

I thought that adults and teens were only allowed to wear costumes at MNSSHP? :confused3

Not sure quite how costume-y they were but last week with Princess half-marathon weekend, there were loads of folks in running costumes in and around the parks.

Yes I'm pretty sure those were runners still in their race costumes!

I've never seen one of the Disney races....some really get that decked out in costumes for a race? They were decked out from head to toe. The adult dressed as Snow White didn't have yellow shoes but cute little black shoes and the adult prince had on boots and both had wigs. Maybe after the race, they changed out of their running shoes.:rotfl2:

We saw a family dressed in Peter Pan...not during Halloween time either (was either Dec 2011 or Jan 2013). A grandma as Tinkerbell is really...ummmm...interesting, let me just say that. Dad was Peter Pan and in tights. We saw them in line to Soarin', I think it was.

You would be amazed at the costumes at a Run Disney event! I have seen people run in full on bridal gown and tux!!

The rule really really seems to have changed.

Attire that is not appropriate for the parks—and which may result in refusal of admittance—includes but is not limited to:

Adult costumes or clothing that can be viewed as representative of an actual Disney character

Once again Disney makes us dissect the sentence to figure out what they mean.

Do they mean "adult costumes that can be viewed as representative of an actual Disney character AND clothing that can be viewed as representative of an actual Disney character"?

Or do they mean to have a comma, which would be better written as "Clothing that can be viewed as representative of an actual Disney character and adult costumes".

Disney drives me nuts with their casual use of grammar with rules.

All I KNOW is that the rules used to be a lot more solid and strong. And now it's the wording above.

I think the tinkerbell thing a few years back and the jack sparrow that hangs out at WDW and/or DLR have really pressed the issue, and the change in wording makes me feel that they just don't really care that much anymore.

I think the problem is that they sell a lot of stuff in the parks that they were telling adults they couldn't wear in the parks.
