We decided to fly in for our August vacation a day early because the price of flights was so much cheaper. After debating about paying cash for the first night at a value or moderate resort, we decided to just use the points and try to get a DVC accommodation. I was not at all hopeful that I'd be able to add on the night for a 1 bedroom at BCV in August only 2 months out. To my surprise, it was was available! A sign of the economic times, I guess. Whatever the reason, I'm so glad - now we can just check in, spend some time in the pool and be ready to go the next morning:banana:

Sounds great. :goodvibes
You just never know when you might get some Magic. :tinker:

Congratulations on getting your reservation. Whatever the reason, it a lucky break. :cool1:

Nice.

The down economy does have some side benefits. We were able to get 2 bedroom at BCV in November at less than 7 months out (still in during F&W).

We were able to get a studio at BWV with a boardwalk view 2 weeks out :goodvibes Always nice to have a touch of Disney Magic!!

Hi wendydarling826,
CONGRATS, that is great news. Sounds like the pixie dust was hard at work :wizard: Have a wonderful trip and be sure to stay cool at SAB! :thumbsup2

You are very luck, that place is normally full in August

That hasn't been my experience at all. August (especially mid month and on) historically is not prime demand time for DVC accomodations and every time I've checked for space at 7 months during that period (at least eight times over the last 12 years as a member) BVC villas have been readily available. In fact, that month and non-holiday dates during January through early March are one of the few times that resort is "easier" to book at 7 months.

You were very lucky! My family decided on a "spur of the moment" trip for August just last week. When I called MS, all that was available was SSR (or OKW). So, we're going back to our first home. Maybe because it was only for one night??? But congrats!!!! Enjoy:)

Not sure it has to do with the economy. Just asked about availability for Oct. 2 - 9 and was told all WDW DVC resorts were completely booked, in all room categories!

I would make that call again. I find it very hard to believe that all DVC's are completely booked in October no less. SSR fully booked this far out?

Apparently it is. In another thread someone else confirmed that they got the last studio at SSR for that week.

For this past april trip during Flower and garden we were able to book a one bedroom for the entire week aprox 80 days out. Unheard of during this time of year due to the festival. Definitely a sign of the times.
As we walked through the resort we did notice it was a bit more quiet than normal (we have ritually stayed at the beach club every april and october for both festivals since 2001), there was a definite quiet feeling this past april.

We just got our waitlist for BCV for a 1 bedroom in June/July. We got our WL about two weeks ago and we leave next week!!!!! I was very surprised we got that WL to come through in late June (this is the beginning of 4th of July week too!) So maybe someone had to cancel due to economic times. All I know is we get to go to BCV for the first time and get to hang at SAB in the hot summer sun!! Yea!!!!!!!

I added two days to our vacation because my work schedule changed, now it was a Fri/Sat night with a bigger point difference, but I was surprised that there was studios available at ALL disney resorts on Aug 6th and 7th.

Now, this does go to show why the reallocation was needed, but I am still surprised.

We are booked at SSR for mid October and have been wait listing for BWV and BCV with no luck so far. It's the Food & Wine Festival. As of last Sunday, the only 2 bedrooms available were at SSR.
