I've been crunching numbers on other vacations all week. Dd starts high school in September 2018 and we are wondering if we should do one more big trip before that. Europe, Alaska, Canadian West. I can't make it work I don't think. If we did a big trip, we would rent our points, but even with that, the prices are crazy.
Right now we homeschool so we travel low season. I've been thinking about one last trip May 2018. Where is the question. Our wings will be clipped after that point.
Trying to figure out when to travel, where to go and what to do with our points. Having trouble.
Renting points would defray the costs of another destination, but everything I look at is minimum $12000. Plus five thousand air in some cases. I think I might be with Dean. Those trips are for the future--without the kids.
Maybe the thing to do is to buy an AP for October and get three trips out of it.
