We are tentatively planning a WDW trip in November and I thought about surprising DD because we are using a new airport (cheaper tickets). I figure she would have no idea what we are planning since we are going to have to stay the night and fly out early the next morning.

What would be something good to have in the morning to surprise her and let her know about the trip? I thought about having something like a basket or something but I have no idea what would be great!

Oh, when can I make dining reservations, I've forgotten how many days out I can start calling.

Thanks for your ideas!! We want to make the surprise really special!! :thumbsup2

I like the idea of having the princess phone call!

We took our 3 girls on a surprise trip to celebrate their birthdays. They are one after the other - May 27, June 4 and June 18. I had t-shirts made for them that read, "Surprise trip to Disney World for my 6th (4th and 1st) birthday." We woke them up and told them we had to get to the airport. They asked where we were going, and I told my oldest she had to read her shirt. She said, "But we're not going to Disney World until November!!!" It took awhile for them to process it. LOL! Then they got excited all over again when they found out we were having dinner that night at their favorite restaurant, the Biergarten in Germany. :)

We gave our DD a Disney World trip for her birthday (b'day is in July and we are going in Oct.) I got a Daisy/Minnie duffle bag and filled it with Disney stuff such as a Minnie Mouse gown, swim suit, outfiit, sunglasses, and a Mickey beach towel to take on the trip. I looked for Minnie panties and toothbrush with no luck. I told her we were going on a trip and she would have to guess where we were going when she opened the present. It didn't take her long. Hope that gives you some ideas.

We are suprising our 2 nieces too! We will pick them up in the am and tell them we are going on an adventure and to relax and watch a dvd on the tv screen in the car. Well guess what? I forgot to bring a movie, all I have is the WDW planning video, do you guys want to watch that?? Of course they will watch that! I figure once they watch the entire thing I will be about 1 and a half hours to the resort. I will ask them if they liked the video, of course they will say yes, I will ask them if they want to go there one day and of course they will say yes and then I will say, GUESS WHAT? WE ARE GOING TODAY!!! To which I will hear squeals and screams of delight!!

(My sister will have their bags backed and DH will put them in the trunk without them noticing)

I've got a hormonal 11yr old at home myself and although she would be thrilled beyond belief with a surprise trip, she would "freak" if I were the one who packed all her clothes!

If you know of someone who is going to WDW before you, have them send her a postcard from her favorite character something like "Can't wait to see you on..." If you don't know anyone, maybe someone on the boards will do this for you.

I read on another thread a while ago how someone ordered chinese food right before the trip and smuggled in a special fortune into all the fortune cookies. Stuff like "there's a mouse in your future", "you'll be traveling long distances", stuff like that. I remember it sounded really cool.

I like the disney duffel bag idea too.:thumbsup2

To answer the question about ADRs you can start 90 days out. Have fun, let us know how you surprise her.
