I am planning a surprise trip for the wife’s 40th bday, next year, what’s the best way to make dinner reservations and FP’s with out her knowing. She has her own MDE app etc
TIA

Not naming your other guests on the reservation will keep it off your friends and family list, I just did this for a trip at Easter. I'm not sure if that will work for fastpasses though.

I surprised DH with a 25th anniversary trip. But he doesn't have his own MDE so there's no reason for him to look. Is there a reason she would be checking MDE if she didn't think she had a trip coming up? At least when you book FPs you don't get a confirmation email.

Another thing I did was to drop hints that we were going somewhere else. He actually thought we were going to Miami or Vegas.

We actually have a large family trip booked right now for February. Right now I booked the “surprise trip” reservation at poly, but have not linked it in mde.

To book FP at the 60 day window you’ll have to link your reservation. To keep dining secret, just don’t choose her as a second guest.
But for the FPS you will. If she checks MDE, she might see. But at least by then, it will be closer to the trip!

I am in a similar boat.... my adult daughter and I visited in September and we are returning in July 2020, but I have booked a surprise Christmas trip and plan to tell her on her birthday in mid November. We are linked in MDE. I set up a dummie account for ADRs and also used Open Table. But for FPs I have had to use my real MDE account. I am just hoping that she doesn’t log into her account and notice the surprise trip. To make matters worse, she keeps saying how wonderful it would be to visit WDW over Christmas and reading all DFBs festive food etc reviews.
Good luck planning your surprise.
