OK fellow DIS'ers ! I need your help. My husband and I are taking our 2 kids (ds9 and ds5) to WDW May 11-18. We haven't told them yet and want to plan something really cool. We initially wanted to leave it until the day we leave to tell them. I don't think I can last that long ! Does anyone have any really fun ideas as to how to tell the boys that they're going to visit Mickey ??

Maybe you could send them an invite from Mickey? I think I heard on hear that you could have Mickey call and personally invite them? Or you could do a treasure hunt and have them find clues that you have hidden around the house. The treasure chest could have maybe Mickey ears and other Disney releated stuff! Sounds really cool! I wish that I could have surprised my boys but DH says that I can't hold water!:lmao:

I like the invitation idea....you can get some really great designs from the Creative DISigns board.

Also, maybe the Easter Bunny can help you out...you can have Disney themed baskets full of things you may be buying anyway for the trip (bathing suits, goggles, sunglasses, disposable camera, crocs, autograph books, pins/lanyard, Disney dollars etc) and even incorporate a treasure hunt idea w/clues in the Easter eggs (and who wouldn't love an egg with a jibbitz or 2 inside?!).

Hope you get some great ideas...it will be so fun to plan a trip and a surprise!

my kids do not know about our trip in 3 weeks. I had this planned since April :scared1: and have no idea how i standed it so long. First trip i would have told them earlier so they can look through books and decide what they really want to do. But because its a repeat trip i am waiting. However, my DD bday is one week before we go, and i am planning a pirate treasure hunt for the whole week. Each day i am giving them clues and they will have to search the house to find them and collect the treasure. Obviously the last clue will be the trip. We leave on the Monday, but i will have them get the last clue on the Friday so they have all weekend to get excited.
