Surprise Trip

My uncle and aunt called last nite and asked if I wanted to join them on their trip to WDW this Thanksgiving! I wasn't sure I'd be able to get time off, but lo and behold I did, and it's on. I can't believe I'm going.

Anyway, we will not be there the exact same time. They will be at their DVC unit at Saratoga Springs from Nov. 18 to Nov. 26. I will be with them at SSprings from Nov. 23-Nov.26 and will then spendthe night of Nov. 27 at either the Hilton at Downtown Disney or an All-Star resort.

What do you think?

1) Car rental v. DME
I like idea of DME bc no driving; but might be nice to have car when I need to move between resorts.

2) Hilton v. All Star
Hilton is very near Saratoga Springs, so would be very quick move, but then I don't believe I have free resort parking the next day. All Star is a little further, but is "on site."

3) Park Strategy
I know this will be a very busy week - what parks to hit on what days?

4) Food suggestions?

Thanks. I'm usually a psycho planner and the sudden nature of all this has me off a bit. I'm hoping I will be able to take things easy. I think I may have to trade some park time (if I want to avoid crowds) for other pursuits (recreation on site like swimming, etc., shopping).

For the car, I am in the same spot--in an earlier week--need to go from POFQ to SOG...decided to take a cab...I have trouble thinking remebering to think about cabs in WDW..they are a perfect solution more often than not.

I think the trick for your planning is not to expect much, and do the opposite of what everyone esle is doing. You know the drill on this--avoid EMH parks, avoid the middle of the day...
