Surprise Swich to GF!

Hi All,
Heading to WDW for the marathon in January. Typically we get a book of rooms at YC. I was shocked to find out today that the rooms are at GF this year. I quickly booked my room with joy but was disappointed to find out I'll have to do a split stay as some of my dates were sold out. Guess I can call daily to see if something changes!

In the meantime, I need to do some fast research on GF! I am sorry to say I am not a GF expert.

Does anyone have any room location/requests suggestions for me?

What category room are you booked? If you are garden view -- I like Sago as GV their can be of the marina - if lagoon, either Big Pine Key or Boca Chica, if theme park view I like Boca Chica or Conch Key.

Thanks Tom. We have "run of house" so we have a chance at anything really based on availability at check in. Not sure if that's a good thing or not when it comes to requesting a location!

GF is nice for the marathon. If you are running, you can take the monorail to the TTC, then take the monorail to Epcot. If you have spectators watching you run, they can watch out front of the GF (we did that with our son this past marathon).

Yes, but limited hours. If you don't board by 3:30AM (or thereabouts), it won't run again until a few hours later. You'll get the info in your room. We stayed in Big Pine Key with a lagoon view.

Perfect!! Way better than the bus! We were very late the the start last time due to limited bus transport.

Every building at the GF is great, so you really can't end up in a bad location, IMO. Have a great trip .

That is often a good thing! It usually means that you pay a lower rate than for any view, but you may even end up in the best room in the house!
I would request "best view possible". Perhaps you will get lucky and be given a theme park view!
