We woke early and I strolled to get breakfast, It was lightly drizzling but i had a jacket so it was pleasant to be out in the fresh air. The atmosphere in the Davey Crocketts area is t¡really peaceful. Everyone drives slowly and you can hardly hear your neighbours at all. I am not sure I would want to stay in the winter when it was cold but If we go again in the summer I would guess we will stay here again.
We dressed in our activity gear and set off for the Davy Crockettts adventure park. This is at the entrance of the area on the right hand side. theyhave a special car park and when we arrived at 09.50 the apointed time no one was thereAfter about 10 ins another family turned up and then a bit later the 2 organisers. We were then given our harnesses and hooks. For anyone who hasnt seen this on Disney's web site, it is an adventure through the high branches of some enourmous trees. You are given 30 mins trainnig and then allowed to set off into the park. The family who went out at the same time as us had smaller children so they started on the beginners course and we were brave and set off on the intermediate course. My DH is actually scared of heights but he said after that you get used to it. It was really good fun in a faintly scary way. You have 2 hooks to connect you toseperate wires and it is completely safe theyse are log paths and Tyrolins and barrels to go through. we managed the first run fine and were nearly through the second when we came to the Tarzan jump. This was the point I decided I couldnt go on. My DD & Ds then hurled themselves into the air and caught onto a net and continued on.
I on the other hand turned back. DH has bad heels form a bad fall some years ago. He had been waiting stationary on his feet whilst I was deciding and had then to continue which he managed after a bit of a struggle.
I was really sorry afterwards that I hadnt done it, and we plan to try it again the next time we go. It is very tiring though and cost 25 euros for 3 hours each. After we went back and swam ( jacuzzied) That evening we struggled down to Annettes and ate there. we must have been tired as we only had one pudding between the 4 of us. It was a really fun day.
