Surprise or Peek?

I love a good surprise. I never go looking for my presents, I try not to predict the end of movies and I would never open a book to the last chapter first. DH is the complete opposite and has to be physically restrained from ripping his gifts open early (he's recently been encouraging our cats to do it for him).

Sometimes, though, things do not go as planned. For instance, I wanted to check our credit card statement for the month to see what Christmas related charges had already made their way onto it, and low and behold, I saw the telltale indication of exactly what DH is getting me for Christmas. Sigh. At least I know we're spending about the same amount on presents.

So, to cheer myself up, I've decided to post a Dis poll to see whether more of us are peekers or surprisers.

I'm a peeker! I can't help it, I hate surprises if I know it's coming and I have to wait. I guess that makes me an instant gratification kind of person! When I was little I'd search and find my birthday and Christmas presents in the house, open them, see what I was getting, re-wrap them and drive myself crazy waiting to receive them officially!

I prefer to be surprised, but somehow I always end up finding out.

I'm totally a surprise person too!
There are so few surprises these days! I have to say, the best one was not finding out the gender of our baby - we were SO surprised

I don't usually predict the end of movies because it's a movie and I know I'll know soon enough. Same with TV shows. But if someone tells me the ending, I won't be upset. Then, I'm trying to figure out how it gets to that ending.

With presents, I really don't like being surprised. At all. It's not fun for me.

I like to be surprised! If there's no surprise then what's the point? Might as well not even bother wrapping them....or giving them for that matter. I might as well just go buy it for myself.
