Surprise or no surprise?

So, we've decided to go to WCC because DGF has gone in the past and it was fun and the food sounds decent. I'm ok with it although I don't think it'll be amazing. So today I thought - why not cancel that, book a table at GF Cafe and surprise her with a Cinderella Slipper dessert? Should I do it without asking (she's okay with me planning - in fact, wants me to) or hint around or what?

This is a fine line, only you know how she will like to be surprised. I do not like surprises, never have, but some women love when you take the initiative and surprise them. Maybe to be on the safe side, ask her what if I changed one of the ressies and surprised you with it, not telling her where or which one, and see what she says.. JMO

I am not a fan of WCC but do love the Grand Floridian cafe..just a whole different look, bright and cheery, Victorian style cafe, good food and good service. WCC for me was a little rough, and many love that whole thing, but for me and my family, we were on edge the whole meal, heard all the noise and yelling and just did not enjoy the experience at all.

I don't think I would like it if DH canceled plans that we had made for something that *he* thought sounded better. I may feel differently if it were an upgrade to a super romantic meal at a signature restaurant, but I consider WCC and GF cafe the same level, just different atmospheres.

Now if you had a free day without any plans, I would appreciate the initiative for a surprise dining reservation, but not canceling something I already stated that I liked.

Wow that sounds wonderful not many men would do that or even think of it. Hope she will be so trilled have a wonderful time.
