Surprise honeymoon for my son...have to share!!

I wonder if a CM could stand off to the side somewhat at least at first and still get a great angle while they initially get to see the room and view? Then the photographer could come in closer?
I'm going to call on Monday and see what they say. I would think this has come up before so they may have some suggestions about it. Thanks!

Can anyone reserve that room or does your friend have special privledges, how did you get that room?
I am curious as to the cost (but I don't want to be rude)
Yes, anyone can reserve it. The cost depends on the season. For July, the cost is $850/night weeknights and possibly more on the weekend (I'm not sure since I was booking a weeknight). I know that in slower times, like Sept, it can be as low as $650. I asked about early Sept. specifically and it was $650 for weeknights, $750 weekends. It's pricey but considering you get concierge included it's really not bad compared to other suites. They say it's 750 sq ft but as you can see in the pictures, it only has one king bed so if you had a family of 4, it wouldn't work very well :goodvibes

I will tell you what they've told me about the room, but I can't share pictures yet! I think I get those on Tues.

Unfortunately, I was not able to arrange for a CM to take pictures...boo hoo!! But I will have some to share that the kids took.

Guess what? The carpet is real silk!! When they arrived, my son and DIL were quickly wooshed off like royalty. A special CM took them upstairs where they were shown the concierge lounge (E Ticket Lounge), which is directly next door to the Fairytale Suite! The kids were just so blown away by everything, and couldn't believe it. The CM told them that the lounge was popular for fireworks viewing as it had the best view of DLR in the resort...but then he said, "...except for your suite! It actually has the very best view!" They were so tired the first night that they did go back to the room and watch the fireworks, and they reported that the view is excellent!

After being shown the lounge, they were taken to their suite, even though it was only 8 AM! Apparently no one had it booked the night before :rotfl2:. I will tell you what they passed along to me, and forgive me if I mess up the details a bit! When you enter the foyer, Tinkerbell begins flying down the steps which lead into the bedroom, and as she goes, she lights up some things that are encased in the wall, like a crystal castle and a Beauty and the Beast figurine. Everything is very elaborately decorated and immaculate. There are remote controls for everything--drapes, sound system, lighting, stars on the ceiling. The room has floor-to-ceiling windows along one wall with a panoramic view of DLR. My son said he could lie on the bed and see the people down in DL! It's a corner room so there is a window/windows on the side wall, too.

The bath is huge and includes a jacuzzi tub with an elaborate mosaic castle on the wall, and a mirror that turns into a TV with the touch of a button! There is a walk-in shower with bench and several shower heads as well as steam setting. There are his and hers vanities.

They called me just as soon as the CM left the room and they were literally babbling, they were so excited!! They went on and on about everything. My son was very impressed with the fact that he could get mochas all day in the lounge :rotfl:. I asked if they told him about the beer and wine all day and he said, "Oh, yeah. But I'm more interested in the mochas!"

They had dinner the first night at Club 33. The chef made them a special cake and sent out 2 special chef's selection items that were not on the menu. I can't remember now what they were but I'll ask my son on Tues.

The next day, they had the lunch buffet at Club 33 and again, the chef prepared a special dessert in their honor. They'd gotten dressed up to go but there was a slight glitch with the reservation and they thought they weren't going to get to go but then found out the reservation was fixed so they hurried right over. They had on their newly purchased DL attire :goodvibes so it all worked out.

Anyway, they called and texted so many times and gushed so much that I don't think there is any doubt that the honeymoon was a huge hit!! They are now in the "how soon can we go back?" camp.

Here are a couple of pictures from Club 33 that I posted on another thread:

that looks so amazing! What a wonderful and amazing gift! You certainly hit the "mom rocks" button.

So glad it worked out! I think you were as excited as them. :)

I wonder since they could see the people outside from their suite, if people can look up and see into the suite? I always wondered about that, if it's one way glass. We stayed at DLH since the remodel, in a regular room. I thought maybe the blue on the outside of the windows not only cut down on the sun's glare but maybe provided some privacy from people outside.

That's incredible that they got two meals at Club 33 - wow!

Love the photos on the other thread and hope you have more.

Thanks for the update. What an amazing gift you gave them!!!

what a wonderful thing you did for them! I also can't wait to see the wonderful pics and the smiles on their faces!

I forgot to mention that they came back to their room after dinner the first night to find red rose petals sprinkled across the bed :lovestruc

They loved being right next door to the concierge lounge, too!

Since there was a little problem with their dining reservation at Club 33, they were given several FPs and got to go on a lot of rides they probably wouldn't have had time for otherwise.

It was their first time back to DLR since long before DCA was added, so lots of things were new/redone. They loved Carsland but didn't have too much time to spend there. They were not that excited about the rest of DCA, which is very much what my first reaction was. I've since come to love it but I didn't think it was that great the first time or two I was there. I really think it's one of those things you start to really appreciate once you've established a relationship with it.

Just thought I'd mention that the cost of the FTS isn't as out there as you might think. Weekdays in the off season it goes for $650/night including concierge, so that's not out of reach like most of the other suites. However, it has a king bed and does not allow rollaways so you're only supposed to book it for a party of 2.

They can't wait to go back to DL. There was so much they didn't have time to see and do but they made the most out of their visit!

Ok, admittedly my DH and I are complete saps, but we are sitting here viewing those pictures and reading your story shedding (happy) tears, and he just leaned over and promised that he would make that happen for me one day. I just wanted to make sure I got that in writing. Thank you for sharing your story and wonderful wishes to you and your family.:flower3:

You're right! I think I was MORE excited than they were until they actually got there :rotfl:. You should have heard their excited chatter when they called me...it made it all so worth it!!

Yeah, I don't know about whether or not anyone can see in! I was looking at a larger picture of the view and it looks to me like you could see people in DTD but I don't think you would see people in DL itself? Here is the big photo...what do you think? http://static.disneylandnews.com/files/2011/07/6_11_DLRH_9008.jpg

I don't know if you could see people that far away (DL park) without binoculars - if even then, but the view is pretty amazing! From other photos I didn't realize that it is a corner view. Wow. I'd love that room!
