Pre-Trip Report: My Dsis & DBro graduated from HS on May 21st. My DH and I thought it would be a great idea to take them to WDW as their graduation present as they have never been. They had no clue. I drove to Ill. w/ DS to attend graduation on May 20th. I gave each of them a box and inside the box I put WDW planning DVD, Mickey shirt, and Disney lugage tags. They thought I was kidding. They also couldn't believe that we were flying as they had never done that before. We drove back to Ohio on May 22nd. On May 23rd we departed Ohio at 11:30 AM to head to WDW. We arrived in Orlando at 1:30. We headed to catch our DME bus. There was no line to check in with DME. We had to wait about 10 min. for our bus and then waited about another 10 min. for our bus to leave. The DME commericial that they show was entertaining. We got to our hotel ASMovies and checked in. Our room was ready (Love Bug Building 7) so we dropped off our carry-on bags and headed for the bus to go to EPCOT. We were at EPCOT by 3:45. We went on Spaceship Earth, Figment, TT, and then got some dinner. We had to wait 50 min. for TT as all of the FP were gone. Everyone loved the ride and didn't mind the wait as there is alot to look at while in line. We walked right on the other rides. We did the Coca Cola ice house (that was fun). After dinner we walked around World Showcase but everyone was getting tired. We went into a few shops and decided it was time to head back to the hotel. I really wanted to stay and watch Illuminations but I did not want to push the kids, especially DS. We went back to the hotel and change into our bathing suites to go swimming. We got to our room around 8 pm and our luggage was there. We went swimming, got our mugs from the food court, got desert and called it a night. Tomorrow was EMH at MGM in the morning and AK in the evening.
May 24th: Mickey's wake up call came to early for everyone but me. I had been up for an hour because I was so excited to be there. We got dressed, ate breakfast ( I packed breakfast snacks in a carry on so we did not have to spend money, plus we are not big breafast eaters.) and headed to the bus. We got to MGM right at 8 and off we went to TOT. We had about a 10 min. wait. Everyone loved the ride, except for poor DS. He begged to go on the ride so I took him. He was so scared. DBro & I like roller coasters but Dsis does not. So I went and got FP for RNR for DBro & I and then got FP for TOT for DBro & Dsis to go on again. We then headed over to do Star Tours (5 min wait). It was fun. We then headed back to use FP for RNR. That was great! While DBro & Dsis did TOT again I took DS to see Playhouse Disney. That was fun. DS loved it. Met back up with DBro & DSis we headed over to Pizza planet for lunch. Got there a few min. before they opended and there was already a line. Food was Ok. We then headed to get FP for LMA. Took son to play on HISKPG, and did the GMR while we waited for LMA. Stopped and got autograph of White Power Ranger along the way. Went and watched LMA. Everyone like it. I thought they talked too much but it was still entertaining. After LMA it was about 2 and everyone wanted to go cool off at the hotel. We went back to the hotel and went swimming for a while. No one wanted to go to AK so we decided to go to DTD for some shopping. That was fun. We ate at Earl of Sandwhich, very good. Spent $4 for DS to ride small train ride and carrousel. Didn't I pay for park tickets?? Oh, well he had fun. Headed back to the hotel to rest up for tomorrow, MK.
May 25th:
Once again wake up call came too early for DS. He told me to tell Mickey he wanted to sleep some more. He eventually got up with a little help from mom, if you get up I will buy you a pirate sword. Off to MK we go! We got there about 8:20. We saw the Park open.. I got chills. In we go. We raced to Buzz, then DBro & I did SpaceM while Dsis took DS on the race cars. Met up and went on Winnie, Snow White (they have tamed this down from the last time I rode it), IASW, SplashM, BTM, and then it was time for lunch. We walked onto every ride without a wait. We ate at Pecos Bills. It was very good. DSis wanted to see Country Bears so after lunch we went. I could not understand what the bears were singing. We then rode the Carrousel, tea cups, TTA, Carrousel of Progress, POC, Got a few autographs watched the parade (son got to sit on the curb and we got there about 20 min. before parade started). The parade was good. We then went shopping and the kids wanted to go back to the hotel and rest. We left and unfortuantley we never made it back. The kids were too tired to go back.
May 26th: We had to leave today. We caught the DME back to the airport. The return show was just as cute as the arrivial show. It was on time. The only long line we had was the check in counter for SW. It took us 40 min. to check in. We ate lunch, took some cute pictures at the airport, did some more shopping and then it was time to board the plane. DH picked us up at the airport. Everyone's luggage made it.
Overall thoughts of the trip: I had a blast, Dsis had a blast, DS would have been just as happy staying at the hotel swimming and playing on the playground, while getting an occasional toy. DBro, he is more into big roller coasters and was dissappointed with the selection at WDW. I am planning another trip but I am thinking, just girls. I would love to see the nighttime shows. DS would not go back to the parks once we were at the hotel. DME worked out great. I would use them again. I would stay at ASMovies again but I would prefer to try new hotel. I can't wait to go back again. If you have any questions please let me know.
