Surprise Fastpasses!

I had no idea WDW was doing this but we got surprise fastpasses at EPCOT when we went to get our fastpasses for Test Track. Attached to our TT fastpasses were 4 fastpasses for Mission Space for right then. Dh was able to walk right on over to MS and ride it right away which was nice since we hadn't gotten his fast pass for that one yet. He rode it again later as well with one of the other fast passes since the kids and I weren't getting on it. LOL I'm not sure how the surprise fastpasses work, if it's just at TT or if it's possible to end up with surprise fastpasses at any fastpass distribution at all the parks. It certainly was a nice surprise!

My guess is they'll use this to get folks on certain rides. I don't think Mission Space is doing as well as they had hoped.

I think it's probably several factors . . . to clear out bottlenecks at their chosen times rather than based on when people feel like getting their Fastpasses, to encourage people to try M:S (did the passes by any chance say that there were two versions?) and to test for October. Very cool to hear they are doing this!

It's happened to me a few times
Last year at the Test Track fastpass kiosk I got surprise fastpasses for Honey I Shrunk The Audience...not very usefull (This happened a few times)
So it's not reallly NEW but it's neat!

It happened to us twice this month at Epcot. We got FP for Soarin' and got surprise FP for Living With the Land one day, and a few days later got surprise FP for Honey I Shrunk the Audience 3-D movie. What a pleasant surprise!

At WDW, I've only had this happen to me at EPCOT, but I've also had it happen at California Adventure over a year ago.

I've had this happen numerous times as EPCOT. I really don't think it has anything to do with the upcoming promotion.

We were there July 19 and we also got the Suprise Fast Passes for Mission Space when we got our Fast Passes for Test Track. Also that day, the electronic board with the ride waiting times had Mission Space listed as No Wait, so I just assumed the fast pass thing was to encourage people to ride Mission Space.

This is very cool. This has not happened to us yet but we will be in WDW the end of September. Also, fun little pixie dust surprises.

We had got a fp for Living with the Land and got a discount ticket for one of the tours at Epcot.

Man I sure hope that happens to us in late Aug! How cool would it be to get a FP for TT and get a suprise one for MS!

Yes, you could have gotten on either version with it. Dh did the original one twice.

It would be nice if they did this at other parks.

I am interested to know how exactly this is set up, why one ride over another, etc.?
