While in MK yesterday, I went to get Fast Passes for our group for Mickey's Philharmagic. The Fast Pass machines were all tented, so I went to Winnie the Pooh to get Fast Passes for that ride instead. As I put the first ticket in, two Fast passes came out. Odd, I thought. Maybe the prior person's fast pass got stuck and now I have an extra one. Then it happened on the second ticket, the third ticket and the fourth ticket. After I took them out of the machine, I saw I had 4 Winnie the Pooh Fast passes and 4 Winnie the Pooh Fast Passes with the following printed on them: This is a surprise Fast Pass good at Mickey's Philharmagic and then gave the times that FP was good for. Never knew these existed! Anyone else experience this? How long has this been going on?

it happened with us when we went on test track and got "surprise" fast passes for misson space :sail: :thumbsup2

Well it's possibly due to the fact that as of 2009, they will no longer have fast passes for most of the shows at WDW (which is a GOOD thing)

I guess I missed the anouncement about no fastpasses in 2009. Where did you read that?

It was on one of the WDW news sites, I go to many of them so not sure at the moment which one...

But it's just for the shows, not all attractions

I don't see how one relates to the other in the slightest. They've been doing this for a while now anyways. Interestingly, they can spit out passes for non-FP attractions like Carousel of Progress. I think they do it to direct guests to attractions that are being underutilized that day.

There are only a handful of shows that have Fastpass as it is, and I'm not sure I count Philharmagic or similar as "shows" as they are still continuously running attractions. LMA (which rarely uses them as it is) and Indy are probably the biggest examples (limited number of shows), and I'm not sure they are particularly necessary there any longer - the last few times we've attended they haven't been 100% capacity.

Mermaid would probably be next, and I'm not sure if they are needed there either.

It's part of the Year of a Million Dreams. Happened to us twice this past May. The bonus fast pass is for an attraction that doeosn't have long waits like Carrosel of Progress or mickey's Philharmagic.

We got them a few years ago for TT and then the bonus was for MS. It was during a time before the second version of the ride came out and no one was riding it.
