Hello all,

I am looking to plan a surprise birthday trip for my fiancé to Walt Disney World. I really cannot decide on where we should stay and it is killing me! I would love to take her to stay in a deluxe resort because that is something we have never been able to do. I am trying to find the best "bang for your buck" deluxe resort. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!! :bday::rainbow:

It depends on what you are interested in and the time of year. We love staying in either the MK area or Epcot area. Our favorites near MK are WL and Poly. If holiday season would say WL over Poly but if not we love the theming of both and they each have a boat to MK. With Poly it is an easy walk to the TTC for the Epcot monorail. In the Epcot area we have only stayed in YC. It was great to be able to walk or take the boat to 2 parks.

In terms of deluxe resorts, AKL and the EP resorts tend to price out the lowest, particularly when discounts are released. When are you going? I would price out your dates and see what's available. I would also suggest pricing out studios at the deluxe villa resorts.

I've found AK and WL having the best deals, the MK and Epcot resorts seem to be always more than those 2 resorts. Have you thought about renting DVC points?

Std view at AKL is cheap-ish yet all the amenities of a deluxe.

I also like outer building std or garden view at CR.

We stayed in a standard studio at AKL Jambo house for our honeymoon and loved it. We liked staying in Jambo House because the lobby is so beautiful and you have the Mara, Boma and Jiko right there. Lots of fun stops to watch the animals and kick back.

In my research I also found the Wilderness Lodge to have a good price point.

We opted for AKL because it was more remote and laid back, which was appealing for a honeymoon.
