Surprise 50th birthday...

Anyone have any good ideas for what to get for a present? It is for my cousin who is turning 50, and his wife is having a surprise birthday party next weekend. I have just about pulled my hair out trying to think of something. I really would rather not just put money in an envelope......and the 'over the hill' stuff gets old. (I am over it farther. )

Can you get him 50 items of something? Nothing monumental or expensive but personal and special to him. It could be real or gag.

I just bought a friend some nostalgic candy from the 50s. It was a hit at the party!! I bought it for DH too, except his box was from the 1960s. It's cool to see all those candies from when you were a kid!!

My husband received a $50 gift certificate at Outback for his 50th. That was pretty cool.

My good friend gave my $50 iris bulbs to plant for mine, along with another beautiful plant.

The plant died but the bulbs bloom again every year, which makes me think of my friend and my age.
