Hello! This is my first PTR but not my first trip to Disney. I've been as a kid several times; now I get to share the magic with my DH, who has never been. We will be celebrating our anniversary as well as his first visit - bring on the buttons!

When we got married, we made a massive "travel bucket list" of all the places we wanted to go together. DH's locales were MUCH more exotic than mine, having lived in Europe, China, and traveled to almost every continent except Australia. First on my list? Disney World!

Well, DH wanted to surprise me with a trip for our anniversary this year. We were originally going for two days, but as we talked through the details, we realized we wanted to spend a longer amount of time there, as we weren't sure if we could come back before we had kids. Disney makes it VERY easy to make that "let's just stay a whole week!" decision with their pricing :)

* Party of 2: DH and I, mid-twenties, young and in love!

* Early June trip (hot hot hot!!)

* We are hotel-hoppers! 3 different hotels, and four hotel changes! (phew)
1 night at All Star Movies
1 night at Port Orleans Riverside
other nights at a nearby cheaper hotel chain.

* ADRs and other food plans: right now we only have four reservations.
- Drive in Sci-Fi at HS
- The Plaza at MK
- Liberty Tree at MK
- Biergarten at Epcot

We're also hoping (ok... I'm really hoping) to visit Babycakes for some gluten free cupcake goodness. Every day, if possible. Try and stop me. :joker:

Otherwise, we are packing food and planning on consuming a turkey leg or two and a dole whip or three and breakfasting in the hotel room or resort cafeteria.

* Itinerary:
We have 7 day regular park tickets - 3 Days at MK, 2 at HS, 1 Epcot and our last morning at Animal Kingdom - neither of us were terribly interested in AK but wanted to see it.

We are planning on doing rope drop every day except the first (we won't arrive until around 1pm), hoofing it until our late lunch/early dinner, taking a rest, and then getting back up to finish out the day strong!

* Other Special Issues:
I wanted to write a Trip Report because (a) I'm SUPER excited and need an outlet for that excitement! and (b) because we were doing a few unusual things and I wanted to share what we learned. Doing research for this trip, I was able to find some very helpful information for our situation, but wanted to contribute more. Here are the things I wanted to report on in some detail:

- Gluten Free options
Obviously, TS restaurants handle this request very well, but what about CS, snacks, and packing food? Does the bakery in France at Epcot have GF stuff? What about the German chocolate shop? What works, what doesn't? We didn't want to blow a ton of money when we didn't have to, so we're trying to optimize cost and nutrition as well as enjoyment, but I wanted to know what treats we would be able to have.

This is a highly individual issue for everyone, but the more information we can share, the better. I'm grateful for others' information and hope to contribute as well.

- Staying off-site
Staying off-site doesn't seem too popular with the DIS crowd! There are good reasons for that - the convenience, especially if you have children, is unbeatable. But what about two energetic adults? Is it really that much better? Our budget is a bit tighter, so that was a big question mark for us. We chose to switch hotels a few times to see which setup was best, as well as comparing the Value resorts with a Moderate.

I want to report on transportation times, the ease or hassle of parking, and maybe even a generalized cost breakdown. I'm curious to see what the real differences are.

So, there we have it... I can hardly wait!

Happy Anniversary!! DH and I will be going for our 1 year in August :love:

We have stayed off property before a few times. Its cheaper and can be convenient if you have a car, if the hotel has a shuttle that runs often, or are willing to pay for a taxi. On our first trip together, we stayed off property. We assumed the shuttle was free, but it wound up being about $10 pp. Upon arrival to the park, we received a paper with the shuttle times on it and where the shuttle would meet us. A group of us waited at the spot for over an hour waiting until someone called the hotel and threw a fit lol. I don't want you to have to throw a fit on your anniversary vacay so just double check with the hotel before you go. Its better to be safe than sorry lol.

Have fun! And let me know how you make out with finding Gluten Free options!
