Surname Change - a couple of Qs

I know I’m a year early in asking this question.

But I’m a crazy Disney planner, and am not going on vacation this year due to wedding budgeting, so I don't have much else to plan! So I’m gonna go ahead and ask this now.

With the free APs – we will be activating ours 5 days before our wedding, and then using them for 15 afterwards.

What do I do about surname change? Just not bother?

Also – can my post-wedding resorts put my new surname on my KTTW? I’d love to have my married surname on them. Dorky I know, but it’s exciting to me!

Until it's done legally I don't think they can change it for you. You would need to show a license/documentation with the new name on it in order to have them change it.

I'm taking my honeymoon 3 days after we get back from Disney and I just booked it a few days ago and she asked me if my name would be changed yet. It won't be changed until after the honeymoon so my passport will still have my maiden name on it as well as my license and social security card.

Not dorky-- it's an exciting change!

YES! Your KTTW can have your new married name after the wedding. I was given one with my "new name" when we checked into the GF for our wedding night. (I loved it! And kept it along with my final card w/ my old last name)

As far as your AP- you have to have an ID with your new last name for them to change it.

TBH I'm much more excited for a KTTW with my new name.

We're at AKL pre wedding, so I'll have my maiden name then and for my first night at the GF, I don't think I'll ask for a new surname GF card. I'll wait for the Beach Club for that I think.

For my first night at GF though (we are having 3, one the night before, and 2 nights after) I have my 2 BMs with me and I'd really love to get them gold KTTWs if I can. It'd mean a lot to them as they've never stayed in a posh hotel like the GF before. And I think KTTWs are nice souvenirs.

I think I'll ask at check in, but the reservation will be in mine and Jacks' names so I wonder how it'll work....

The reservation may be in your name, but Disney requires the full name of every guest staying in the room. Everyone will receive their own KTTW card at check-in!
