We will be taking the 7 day eastern on 9/30/06 and was wondering if any experienced DCL cruisers can tell me which of the above they enjoyed more. My DH has never been anywhere near a spa, but I am going to try to get him to go. I was thinking of the Surial Chamber because we could be alone. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I got a free trip to the rainforest on a day when we were in port and became totally hooked! Remember, no privacy, so if you want a private moment, this isn't for you- but at the end of the day or when you can grab a quiet moment- the rainforest was sublime! The warm tile lounge chairs, the aromatheropy showers, and the quiet relaxation made it something tht I will get a week long pass for our next trip... next March!

As much as I enjoy the surial (rasual), I'd have to vote for the Rainforest. It's a longer experience (as long as you like), with so many saunas, showers, etc. to choose from. And I can curl up in those heated tile loungers for hours with a good novel.

We did the rainforest as well and loved it. I didnt like the others in there, but everybody was nice and kept to themselves. I would go back in heartbeat.
Even my hubby agreed! next cruise we get a week long pass!!

The showers were so relaxing I want one at my house. :teeth:

Does anyone know the cost of the Rainforest for the entire cruise (we're going on the 7-day West Coast cruise)?

Thanks! It sounds like I'll push for the tropical rainforest -- maybe even get the week pass. The showers sound the best! Thanks again! :flower:

do you need to make an appointment for the rainforest? or do you just walk in & swipe your card? and leave whenever you want? :flower:

The Rainforest doesn't require resservations. When we went a year and a half ago you could check in at the front desk & they'd give you a spa basket full of shampoos, masks, etc - you simply left your KTTC with them, then got it back when you returned the basket. It was great!

I will definitely be doing this again!

The last time I checked (and the last time I cruised) the cost for a weeklong rainforest pass was $75 per person. Dh and I loved it - the heated loungers were wonderful but we also loved the gentle sauna...and many times we had that to ourselves. We also thoroughly enjoyed the surial bath when we tried it...and are looking forward to doing it again on our next cruise.

If I had to choose one I guess I'd pick the rainforest because you can use it every day as long as you like and it's probably a better overall deal in terms of price. But why choose? Just do both!!! :teeth:

Enjoy your cruise!

My DH and I have done the bath twice. We loved it both times. I have never done the rainforest but I will be on my upcoming cruise. If your DH is willing to give it a try..it is quite a fun experience!

Have fun!

Are there better times of the day/evening to do the Rainforest? Thinking of less people being in there. I assume it's co-ed?

The Rainforest is coed. I found it usually not too crowded, sometimes you had to use the saunas and showers for a while before a heated lounger opened up.

I love just looking at the fountain in the middle of the room as the colors change. It is very relaxing. :sunny:

I went one evening around 6pm and it was empty, I went during the day at 3 pm on a port day it was empty and again around 5pm on a sea day and it was empty...I never had anyone in there the whole 3 times I was there!! It is co-ed and you have to wear bathing suits in there.

so for the week long pass, it's $75...what about if you just want to go for a day? anyone know how much that would be?

can you do the rasul thing, and then the rainforest thing after? book them both back to back? would that be a good idea or not? :flower:

I believe it is $15/day, or $8 if you have another service (massage, etc.) on that day.

does anyone know if they have like 3 day specials for a week long cruise? my parents went the last time we cruised and loved it, but i feel like i wouldn't use all 7 days worth...

They do have specials for the length of each cruise. I just can not remember the pricing.

We have not done the rainforest. But we are going to take advantage of quite a few spa treatments soon. Seriously thinking about the Rainforest. I like the fact it is coed. I do not care to be away from my Dh on a cruise. We love the rasul.

You have to agree DrCavin it is fun to have a mud fight. We laughed and have a great time.
