Have any of you ever been to this breakfast at the Paradise Pier Hotel? Thoughts? Experiences? Thanks for sharing! :flower3:

I thought is was very fun and cute. Food was decent with pretty good selection. Character interaction was very good and they have the kids all come out and dance and pretend to surf with the characters. We saw Mickey, Stitch, Minnie and Pluto when we were there.

It's a great time but is expensive. 10 year olds are the cut off for adults. We are glad we did it (just last week) but it cost us $125 for a family of 2 adults 1- 10 yr old, 1- 7 yr old and 1- 5 yr old. The automatically put on a 15% tip I guess for parties over 4 people.

Any pictures anyone could share?

We are considering this breakfast for our next visit :goodvibes

Let me see if I can pull some pics for it. It ws FANTASTIC when we went. We went right at open (7am) and it wasn't crowded at all. The characters spent TONS of time with my kids. Best character interaction I've ever seen. The food was good too.

Thanks DahliaRW, would love to see some pics of the food. Yum!popcorn::

Ok, here you go:

When you come in you get your picture taken. I guess it's usually with just Mickey, but we got both Mickey and Minnie. We didn't buy the overpriced professional one, though.

My ds and dd (with Minnie) doing a surf lesson. Dd was shy, so Minnie took her over and showed her how it's done!

My other ds was hanging back shy watching, so Daisy and Mickey started dancing with him!

I didn't get any pictures of the food, sorry! But hopefully you can see how awesome the characters were!

Thanks so much. Your kiddos are adorable :goodvibes
I like the "surfing/beach" attire of the characters. And all of that Minnie & Mickey attention? Sounds like you guys had a great time.

Sherry E-

thanks for the links, she had posted pics of food. It looks yummy, but I think we got spoiled on Goofy's Kitchen, they just have such a wide variety.

I'll be the odd one here....we went in May of 2010 and really disliked it. The character interaction, the food, the strange lay out of tables that made it difficult to get to the buffet and back....everything :confused3

I'm gluten intolerant and at all Disney restaurants the chef will come out and speak personally with any guest that has dietary restrictions. Lets just say the chef's unclean appearance was less than appetizing...

For my family, Storytellers, Goofy's Kitchen or really any other character breakfast is a better choice.

I'm with you, marcemc! I'm glad you found her food photos - I couldn't recall which 2 of those links the food photos were in!:rotfl:

See, for me, the thing is that I'd be perfectly willing to try Surf's Up once or twice. Who knows? Maybe I'd love it. But I generally only have money for one character meal per trip. And Goofy's is my tried and true character meal, so...if I'm going to spend a whopping amount of $$$ on a character meal (even with a discount, it's still expensive) and I can only do one of them, am I going to stick with the one I know I love, or try one that I may or may not like? If I had money for more than one character meal in a trip, I would probably do Surf's Up in addition to Goofy's, simply because Surf's Up is the only one where Mickey is.

But you're right - the sheer size of the Goofy's Kitchen buffet and the wide array of choices make me very spoiled!!

For the money they charged at Goofy's, Mickey should really show up.
That would take care of our dilemma ;)
Those breakfasts don't come inexpensive.

We did an early dinner -5pm at Goofy's and a late Bfast - 10:30am at Surf's Up!

They were both awesome - not at all crowded. The boys LOVED the breakfast - lots of nice choices to eat, lots of characters, lots of interaction with the surfing and dancing.

We had a LONG liesurely breakfast (1.5hrs) and it was a blast We didn't eat again until dinner.

A few nights later the dinner at GK was really great too - again not very busy yet so lots of interaction. Food was decent - I'm not a huge fan of buffet dinners But the kids stuff was great and there were nice salads & meat dishes. The desserts were fun! How often do you get several choices to try??!

I would recommend them both for a truly *Disney* experience.

That being said we aren't likely to do either again next trip - we'll try a new one.
You go for the experience - not the food

You're definitely not the odd one out, no worries!! :goodvibes I just went this morning, and after hearing so many good reviews about Surf's Up, I was VERY excited to go. Maybe all that anticipation and expectation of a fantastic meal was too much, because I was fairly disappointed with it. Most of my problems were with the food. After having so many great, varied meals at Goofy's Kitchen, I guess I was expecting the same from Surf's Up. My lack of excitement in the food was mostly due to the fact that I really am not a breakfast person, and I'd rather have more lunch items in the buffet to satisfy that. Unfortunately, their selection of non-breakfast/brunch foods was tiny compared to Goofy's Kitchen. DBF liked his food, but definitely wasn't impressed by anything, which is saying something because he is a HUGE breakfast fan :confused3

Overall, I'm glad we tried Surf's Up and I loved the character interaction, but by that time of morning, I was starving for some good food and that wasn't delivered.
