Hi all :thumbsup2

I've promised my son to take him to a surfing lesson on his birthday in August - he'd like to do it on his actual birthday when we are at the Outrigger on Waikiki Beach :thumbsup2

I had planned to book through surfhnl, which was recommended on here, but I've just realised that they are not actually on waikiki beach and we'd have to drive there.

My boys will be 8 and 11 and whilst they can swim, i would call them beginners and they have never been on a surf board - so I think they would either need one on one tuition, or at most a private lesson between the two of them.

Can anyone recommend a company to me, ideally very close to the outrigger - as we'd prefer to have a beach day without needing to drive anywhere.

Many thanks for any help:thumbsup2

I would recommend Aloha Beach Services near The Moana Surf-rider hotel. We were inexperienced as well in 2012, but my kids were standing up on the board in just a few tries. Family owned business. I believe cash only. We went one morning around 8:30 and ended up pretty much getting private lessons because we were the only ones there at that time. Heading back mid March and we are going back to the same guys. Great experience.!

Just go out on Waikiki. There is a company right there by the Duke statue...

We are here now and DD and DH have a lesson tomorrow with Gone Surfing Hawaii which I think is the nor by Duke's. I will let you know how it goes. It would be VERY close to you I would think and it gets great recommendations on trip advisor.
