My DS did the surfing school at VB on 6/7. He's 14, soon to be 15.
They met in the lobby at 8:45 to depart and returned around 12:30. It was just DS and one other boy about the same age.
You do have to sign a release, BTW.
DS thoroughly enjoyed it. They traveled to Ft. Pierce Inlet State Park, I think that is where they went. DS said it wasn't too far, so in hindsight DH and I could have easily driven over to watch.
The lessons were easy to understand and it didn't take long for DS to begin surfing. I have some nice pics of him surfing. One of the instructors used our camera to take pics, which was nice. I will try and upload some later.
They also had snacks for the boys, water and juices and snacky type foods that teens love.
For the enjoyment he received and the fact that he did indeed learn to surf, I thought it was worth the $90. The surf classes at Typhoon Lagoon are a lot more $$$$.
Afterall, we are currently stationed in landlocked KY. Where else would he have the opportunity to do this in a relatively safe environment?
He is now of course asking for a surfboard.
