We always have a dress down day on a friday in my office, so i was sat there all nice and comfy in my jeans having a cup of tea when i looked out the window to see a helicopter landing in the field next to us. Didnt think much of it at the time.

10 mins later i pop out of my offie to go to the loo and see a big crowd of secuirty guards. At that point i though thats a bit odd, went to the loo came back and and standing in the middle of my office is HRH Prince Charles!

He was visiting our office to see how the local businesses and communitiy has coped with the aftermath of the Buncefield oil depot disaster. :goodvibes

Crikey, Laura, now there's someone you don't see every day!!

I bet that made a change from your usual Friday routine!

HRH Charles and Camilla are coming to our village on July 4th and will be calling in to a bead shop about 50 yards from our house. I would put the kettle on for them, but the coffee shop where DD works has been asked to do the catering :teeth:

Shame I'll be in work all day :(

Wow! A few Disers and their families seem to be mixing in Royal circles at the moment!

Maybe we could start a whole thread of this.

I once came back from getting myself a cup of coffeee to find 2 of S Club 7 sitting in my office.

They were appearing at the Arena and had split up to visit some of the Secondary schools who were recording their voices for a charity record they put out. The boss had put them in my room to hide them until he could get the kids into the assembly hall. He'd just forgotten to tell me. He didn't really know who they were so didn't think it was anything to make a fuss about.

They were very nice except they swore a lot and were preoccupied with finding out t=where the nearest MacDonalds was. They didn't want to eat there, they were just paranoid that that was what their manager would get them for lunch again. :rotfl2:

Last Christmas Tony Christie was visiting the maternity unit (I work downstairs from this) where his daughter or daughter in law had just given birth. I didn't see him but apparently he had arrived with pre signed photos to give out. Freddie Star shops in our local Tesco store as well, not seen him either, my reputation must precede me

I found out at the weekend what happened when HRH Prince Charles visited the duchy originals factory that my brother had just done all the electrical work for. Charles was being shown around and the chap that works for my brother was explaining what each piece of equipment actually does, he mentioned that all the mahcinery had to be specially built and that they had bought the pieces from lots of seperate places including ebay and had constructed the whole thing from scratch.
Charles seemed really impressed that his factory was so environmentally friendly but when approaching Shaun said 'Good job you've done on the factory but you didn't tell me it was all second hand stuff!'
Shaun was dead embarrassed and said 'But its all got a 15 year guarantee! :rotfl: '

Well I am suitably humbled by all your new acquaintances and I shall watch my DIS etiquette from now on :teeth:

while we're on the subject of fabulous people we have met G4 were on tour a couple of weeks ago, and in 4 of their show programmes at each venue they put a golden ticket. I went to the show in Liverpool and got a golden ticket...hurrah! I got a meet and greet session with them afterwards and we got to chat, and get autographs and take photos! It was rather pleasant!
