Supportive flip flops?

I did 12+ hours recently in my OluKai Ohanas without issues. OluKai's have quite a bit of arch support. A little more than I'm used to, but they sure did help alleviating soreness. I also like FitFlops. Did about 10+ hours in those. Whatever you do, make sure to bring multiple pairs of your most comfortable footwear (broken in before you get to the parks) and switch every day. Both kinds of flips can withstand a soaking, but are slippery when totally wet. They do dry quickly though. The OluKai's probably dry out faster.
Great tips! Will be sure to bring a few options!

Mickey Crocs are very comfortable, never had any trouble for very long days at WDW. Just make sure you try them on before buying, they tend to run a little bigger xD

I have found Merrell Sandals to be one of the best to wear around the parks...I do have food issues and with the arch support that they have, it is the best for me. I wore mine last Oct all day to HS and AK. I switched them up with my sneakers to give my feet a break from the sneakers.

Hi Alexis!

This is great, thank you for commenting on this post! I'm a little over an hour away from your store. Are you able to check if you have anything in a size 8 before I come all the way out that way? Thanks so much!

Sure, just give the shop a call 201-368-0076, and they can tell you what is in stock in your size. They are open 10am-9:30pm Monday-Saturday

The last eight times I've been, I took my Reggae Trailway flip flop by Sketcher. Just read the reviews. I've tried the more expensive brands just to see how they compare, but nothing, and I mean nothing feels like this shoe. I can walk all day and at the end, still have feet that feel great. They have very good arch support and stay on your feet. For the price you can't beat it. And for a more expensive price, you can't beat it. I'm really weird about my feet. There is NO way I'm wearing uncomfortable shoes. These shoes...I'm pretty certain they are made in heaven by angels. They're that good. :)

cannot recommend birkenstocks enough! worn them for 20+ years and always wear them at disney over my running shoes. never had any blisters or achy legs. so so comfortable. they can feel weird when they are wet, but they dry pretty quickly.

My vote is for the Nike Comfort flip flop. Great for my plantar fasciitis and so comfortable. I wear them all the time. I tried sneakers in the parks and took them off when I was getting blisters on the bottom of my feet. Was much happier in the Nike's for the rest of the trip. Plus they're only $30.

Chaco regular flip flops are the only flip flops I can walk miles in. They have a great arch support.

Ok, I'll admit it- I'm a 100% a flip flop girl. I'd wear them year-round if it weren't for living in NJ. I wear sneakers only for exercise and even then I can't wait to take them off.

I know I'll need some better options for walking in Disney. I'm bringing sneakers and a few other options but would love a recommendation for a supportive flip flop. I've heard that Crocs are great but there are so many styles/options I'm not sure which one to order.

Appreciate your help!

Me too!! My family laugh at me for wearing flip flops to the park because they say it'll make my feet hurt. Silly people!

I am not one of these people who like a lot of straps and stuff on my feet, I tried Merrill at the shoe store and the ones I tried just have to much to bind my feet in and I hate that. I absolutely love and swear by my good old everyday Yellow Box Sandals. I don't know your needs, but because Yellow Box has that cushy platform, after a while it conforms to your feet and to me they feel awesome.

Only one other shoe have I ever found as comfortable as my Yellow Box. Right now I own a pair of Crocs that are called "Walu Canvas Loafer". Never in a million years would I have suspected they'd be this comfortable, since they cover my whole feet. But they are like walking on air, and they don't get my feet sweaty. I love them.

Okay FWIW, I just wore my new Teva Flatform sandals 6+ hours and got caught in a pretty intense "surprise" thunderstorm/downpour. I was really surprised how grippy they handled the water. No slipping or sloshing around whatsoever! Not sure if they'd be comfortable for a WHOLE day at the parks (more straps than I like usually), but I'm definitely taking them for 3/4 days, i.e. DTD, AK, onsite stay/visit to US/IOA.

I just got a pair of the Sanuk Flip Flop ones... I'm trying them this trip... (in about 2 weeks!!!)... those and my sketcher gogamat shoes... we will see what works! I have a feeling I am going to live in the Sanuks!

I love my Crocs Baja (I think) but they have to be the exact correct size. Too big are uncomfortable and give me blisters. I wear them during the day, then go with Mickey Crocs with socks, or walking sneakers in the evening.

Always switch up your shoes on a daily basis and you won't have pain issues - that works for me!

Has anyone had any experience with Teva sandals getting wet? I bought them to wear in the water at Discovery Cove and I'm hoping they'll hold up to being in the water all day.

I just got back and took tennis shoes and two pairs of Yellow Box Flip Flops. I wore the flip flops most of the time. My feet did not hurt at all, and this was after an eight-day trip, so I say Yellow Box all the way! I wore Teva the last few trips, and they are pretty good, too, but the Yellow Box are the ones for me!

I just got back from 9 days at Disney, I only packed a pair of fit flops and a pair of Birkenstocks. I would highly recommend either of these brands. I have permanent neuropathy in my feet from chemo and shoes can me tricky for me. I have zero pain when wearing these. I even have fit flops to wear around the house.

I admit that I am NOT a flip flop girl, but I LOVE Keens. They breath like a sandal but are supportive and don't fall off. I don't have to take them off to ride Soarin' either. I wore them most of the time this last trip and they were great! As a bonus, you get a pretty awesome speckled tan that your DH can make fun of well into fall!

I have a pair of Reefs and Birkenstock gizehs. Recommend them both highly! Birkenstocks have more contoured support throughout, but I don't like getting the footbed wet. The reefs are more water-friendly - and they are lightweight and provide great arch support. I always wear one pair and bring the other for backup.

update, my keens were AMAZING......my olukai's were squeaky, but comfortable, and I don't think I tried my chacos haha
