Did you watch this last night?

I couldn't believe that little boy and how his mum just let him get on with it. I really hope Jo was able to help them, I wonder if they will do a 're-visited' show?

I watched it....and I was horrified :( I'm not sure I could have coped with a little boy like that. Lets hope Jo did help them :)

Wasn't the little boy terrible (mind you his mum really didn't make life easy for herself), I hope he's still a lot better now. Whenever I watch Supernanny it just makes me appreciate how good my own kids are (even though they have their moments and I could happily throttle them :rotfl: )

May get flamed for this from those who have 'difficult' children but I'm a firm believer that children's behaviour is generally caused by the parents' parenting style.

We are quite strict with our DS and, although I'm biased, he is pretty well behaved. He says please and thank-you (always!), eats nicely most of the time and is a pleasure to be around 99.9% of the time. Obviously, he has his moments as do all children but he is generally very good.

No I totally agree with ya there :)

I love this programme, I can't believe how naughty the children are the language that comes out of their mouths.

I am shocked with the language too!

I was absolutely gobsmacked by the disgusting language that the FIVE YEAR OLD boy used. I could not believe it. I never even knew children that young knew such words, my children certainly don't! I hope they do a re-visited show as well - I don't know how they coped with him.

i watched it and was horrified at how the mother had let her child behave for so long !! jo seemed to get the measure of him quickly tho :goodvibes

I remember being about 10 years old and going to visit my friend from school who lived in "the bad part of town". She had a little brother who was about 4 at the time and his language was appalling, I couldn't believe a child that young knew those words, I had only just learnt of them myself and he said some I didn't know! I think it might say a lot that their mum went to school with my big sister.

Car crash TV! This is one of the best things on the box at the moment.

I have really taken to the Supernanny / Little Angels type programs. I feel that I have learnt a lot about my own parenting style, although our kids are (almost) perfect, at least in our eyes, it is very important to understand how much of a bearing our attitude as parents directly influences our childrens behaviour. :guilty:
I can honestly say that without these programs I would still be making some terrible mistakes, but happily believing I was being a good parent.
It is a shame however that you still see parents verbally abusing their children, and very often they do not realise that this is in fact what they are doing.
Unfortunately the governments idea that fining parents for their childrens behaviour is flawed as it does not help the parent to change their methods, neither does it help to turn an unruly child/teenager into a model citizen. It does however create further revenue for the chancellors coffers.
