Hi All, We will be on the ship during this year's superbowl. Can anyone confirm that they we can view the game while on the ship?

Also, we will be on the Fantasy... if they do show it where would be the best place to watch it?

Don't know for sure but on a recent eastern cruise on the Fantasy they showed sporting events from NBC and TBS channels which they normally don't carry.

As noted, unless it's on ESPN, or ABC, your chances are fairly slim. However, on occasion, for what DCL deems "big games"they may be shown onboard even if on another channel. Best chance, if they do show it, would be in O'Gill's (the sports bar) or on FunnelVision.

If it isn't shown, most of the time important scores are shown on other feeds.

It should be playing on the big screen and the sports bar. There also will be a deck party and the formal night will be moved to another night

There should be a SuperBowl party on deck and beer specials in the sports bar. We've been on the Magic for the Superbowl and it was also shown in the Promenade Lounge with special snacks there also. The kids club did special crafts based on the teams playing. There were decorations up in Diversions.

One year they picked up the Superbowl on a spanish ESPN channel and it was dubbed in English. That was pretty wild seeing the stats in Spanish.

I will say that the top deck gets windy and cold at night - even in the Caribbean - so plan accordingly when you pack. Those who didn't have sweatshirts or jackets were wrapped under pool towels.

It was a fun night and we hope to experience it again on our Wonder cruise in February.

The showings I mentioned were on the stateroom TV, didn't need to go to a public area. IIRC the games they showed were MLB playoff's, a couple Sunday NFL games and Sunday night football, none of which were on a Disney owned station.

This will be our 3rd year being on the Dream or Fantasy during the superbowl. The other posters
are correct. It will be on your stateroom tv, on TV's in the sports bar, and probably on the Funnelvision by
the pool. They put out extra snacks by the sports bar but I didn't look for snacks out by the pool. By 5:00PM people
were in the sports bar staking out their tables and chairs.
Don't forget to tell your sports fans to wear their team Jerseys to dinner and to the pub. It
was a fun night, DH and I watched the last few minutes in our cabin...

We were on Dream last year for Super Bowl. They did have appetizers and sandwiches on the pool deck. We also ordered wings in room. No commercials were shown though.

I know We'll have to comfort ourselves with knowing we are on a cruise instead. That's the logic I'm going to use at least.

when I booked last years cruise, I asked my son (who was 16 at the time) "If you could watch the superbowl from anywhere in the world, where would you want to be to watch it?" His response was "Disney World", I said well, that is close...then he immediately shouted "On the deck of the Disney Dream!" I said sounds good to me and that we are already booked!

My husband will be very happy to know all this information. I almost ended up in dog house, when I gave him the dates of cruise and he realized it was during Super Bowl. Looking forward to having a happy camper!
