This was one of the best trips by far. We had never stayed at CSR before, and what a pleasant surprise.
DAY 1
DD and I flew on Southwest airlines for the first time. It was the greatest flight. Very efficient, and friendly staff. We've never been treated so well on USAir before. I will always look to fly Southwest first from now on. Arrived at the airport around 10:30 am, and took Mears to CSR. Once at CSR, the check-in was smooth. I found the CM's at CSR to be the best on property. Even more helpful than at Grand Floridian, where I was pleased with the CM's there. The CM asked where I preferred to stay, and I told her I didn't know, and to select a favorite location for me. She chose room 8247, a corner room on second floor in 8A Cabanas. The perfect room for us, since we wanted to be near the pool, and to have a water view. The view was excellent, and we were the closest room to the main pool. After unpacking and changing clothes, we took a walk around the resort. Absolutely beautiful! There is so much to look at here. The short walk to El Centro for lunch was very pleasant. The Pepper Market is great. So much to choose from. It is not at all like a food court. The prices were reasonable, and the service was very good. We took a cab to MK and walked around for a while. Had early dinner at Pecos Bill's - hot dogs. It was freezing outside. Good thing I remembered to pack some pants, but had to buy sweatshirts. Can't remember being this cold. We took the train ride all the way around the MK. I always enjoy seeing the sights around the kingdom. We returned early to the CSR, and strolled around the lake. Quite beautiful at night with the lights reflecting off the water.
DAY 2
Upon wake-up, strolled to Pepper Market for breakfast. Put on our swimsuits for a day at the pool. DD loved the playground at the dig site. It is great. Lots of stuff to climb on, slide down, and dig in. I found a bench in a corner of the playground area, and ordered a banana daquiri from the pool bar. This was a wonderfully relaxing day. DD went in the kiddie pool for a while, too. Dressed for dinner at the Pepper Market, and then took a bus to Epcot. We did a few things in future world, then caught the end of the fireworks. Walked to Boardwalk and took the direct bus back to CSR from there. Again, very cold at night. Got off the bus at first bus stop, and headed into El Centro. There was a great musical group playing by Francisco's lounge. There were four men playing latin music on an eight foot long marimba. It was great to sit there and listen to the music. We took the walk around the lake back to the room. What a great day.
DAY 3
What fun to rent a surrey bike and ride around the lake. This resort is so beautiful, and it was quite enjoyable to ride around it and take in all the sights. After getting off the bike at La Marina, we rented a peddle boat. Even better than the bike. There were lots of fish in the lake, and it was fun to take the duck food on the boat and feed the fish from our peddle boat. This was so relaxing. After returning our boat, we got a bite to eat at the Pepper Market. I never minded the ten percent added to the bill, because the servers were so helpful. It was great to have them bring drinks, ketchup, take out containers, and drink refills. In fact, I always left a dollar or two extra on the table. When DD and I both ate off the kiddie menu, the meals were never more tha 14 dollars. I bought the refillable cup on the first day, so it I brought it with me to each meal, and saved a lot of money. I didn't buy it for DD, as it is only good for refills on pop, coffee, or tea. She drinks milk, so cup wouldn't have been useful. The Pepper Market offers fresh fruits, whole or cut, and fresh salads, sandwiches, chicken, baked goods. You can eat healthy meals here if you want to. The PM also offers alcohol, and specialty coffee drinks. Good variety of food here.
