Super Soap weekend just happens to be on the weekend we will be in the world. Not particularly interested in autographs, etc... but I might like to see the parade. Is it possible to do this or is it just a mad house? Tips ?

Also, if someone wants to go to MGM for the rides, shows that day - is this possible or is it just too hard to walk around?

Have they decided for sure what weekend it's going to be? Last I checked it wasn't published yet.

I don't know the exact dates, but I would guess the weekend closest to Veteran's Day. We went that weekend a couple of years ago, and were surprised to find out about it.

It was extremely crowded at MGM that weekend, but not as bad on the rides. Navigating through the crowds was annoying, but most people just wanted to meet the stars, so the lines weren't too bad in the middle of the day, considering how many people there were.

EPCOT and AK were quiet compared to the huge crowds at MGM. MK was ok on Friday, but an absolute zoo (as usual) on Saturday. We couldn't even walk together at MK - just in a line hanging on to a kid's hand for dear life. We left the park that day.

Getting PS for meals was hard because apparently the hotels were full. Even though we didn't see a lot of people most of the time, everyone had to eat dinner. We made our PS way in advance, so it didn't cause a problem for us, but I did hear a number of conversations about it while waiting to be seated.

We still had a great time, but I don't know if I would go that weekend again. I'm sure you would have a good time - after all it's WDW!!

Thanks , anyone with any tips on watching the parade that is offered at MGM those days. How early do people stake out a spot to see the parade? Also, I've heard the park closes to visitors when it is at capacity. Does this apply to those STAYING ONSITE as well???

Depending on how long you stay, you could run into Jersey week and Super Soap weekend during your trip like we have a couple of times. All the parks can be very busy during the first and second week of November. I think the British also have some type of school break during the first two weeks of November. We have experienced smaller crowds in early June then we have during the first two weeks of November in 2001 and 2003.

Unless you are a big soap fan, I would stay away from MGM during the super soap weekend. We have been there twice during super soap weekend and we left the park because it was way over crowded. Fastpasses were all gone by noon, and RnR & ToT were 90+ minute wait.
