Super silly, petty YC question

I am still really torn between YC (where DH wants to stay) and the Poly (where I want to stay). DH really doesn't want to split our stay. So - how many of the rooms at YC are decorated with the nautical bedspreads? I know this is really, really silly but I just don't like the decor. I much prefer the rooms with the navy floral decor. And no - ships on the bedspread won't ruin my whole vacation - I was just curious as to which rooms were decorated in which style.

Thanks!

The YC decor is really nice, have you seen pictures of it? Not what I expected, and I really enjoyed it!

Our room had a very bauticle theme, but not over the top.

having stayed at both....I strongly urge you to stay at the YC / BC over the Poly.

Leighe, when we stayed there in December we ended up moving rooms. Both of the one's we had were done in the more masculine ship decor. I will say though, the beds were so comfortable. They have the new pillow top mattress and it was like sleeping on a cloud. Overall, I thought all the linens were very soft and the bedspread design really didn't bother me at all.

Okay, first rule of marriage is compromise, if he won't go for the split stay, what about an upgrade to YC concierge???? If he gives the thumb down on that request, just remember you had a fabulous girls only trip recently. I think you gotta give in a little to your sweetie on this one :love2: . I have no idea what the percentage of floral design rooms are, but you could always have that request noted on your reservation and then just ask again at check-in.

I think since they rehabbed it a couple years ago, all the rooms have the nautical theme.

I agree, the BWI might be more to your liking.

All the rooms are the same, if you want floral decor, the boardwalk is your place.
The pictures that are posted on Deb's site and a few others show rooms done in both styles, a floral and nautical sailboat bedspread. Do you know if they've done away entirely with the floral design at the YC?

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I have suggested upgrading to concierge - and I am leaning strongly toward YC - I know DH will love it. Tammi - great advice as always.

I do like the looks of BWI but DH really loves pools so I figured we had to go with YC/BC.

Again, ALLEARS is outdated, and the floral design is long gone. I think it was in 2000/2001 YC/BC had a refurbishment and all of the room decor changed.

Thanks Anne, looks like we posted at the same time and you had my answer.

Leighe, I just did a quick check on the Disney website and while the numbers might not be entirely accurate based on what time of year you're travelling, but it looks like the difference between a Poly lagoon view room and a BC/YC Garden view concierge room is on $35 per night. You might want to check on those numbers before you present this option to your DH though.

I wasn't entirely sure I'd like this area and while the concierge lounge is not quite up to par with some of the others, it was a beautiful resort and the location is excellent. We had park hoppers and it was so much fun to be able to have the Epcot world showcase just a 5 minute walk away. We'd stop in there to grab fish and chips for lunch, or go to France for a nice dessert. I know what it's like to give up your favorite area, but I don't think you'll be disappointed at all. It's a very romantic spot and the pool is fun for everyone.
