We have a chance to head to WDW for a quick visit, 2-3 nights, planning to go to the MK party one night and Epcot the other day. Stuck between choosing resorts as we have never been at the winter holiday! Right now we are between CR, WL and YC with very little difference in price overall given that its such a short trip. The CR is a tower room lake view which we have stayed in before and really liked. I especially appreciated being able to walk to MK especially when time is of the essence. WL has the boat to MK which is nice and I am sure the wilderness theme will be very lovely with Christmas decorations. YC I am considering because of the walk to epcot and also I generally prefer the BW area but again I have never been in December so I don't expect to be using the pools which is always a big draw for staying at the BC/YC. This is hard!!

I can always look at the moderates as well I am just concerned about wasting a lot of time traveling around since we are on such a short time crunch. I'd rather pay more and spend more time in the parks than traveling on a bus.

I would love to hear any thoughts!!

I see your dilemma! For super short stays like yours that involve a holiday party at MK, I normally prefer MK resorts so my vote would probably be CR. It's a tough call for me because I'm a sucker for a cozy resort during the Christmas holiday and CR doesn't really fit that for me. But convenience probably wins out given it's just a 2-3 night stay.

Either last year or the year before, we had a short holiday stay and I remember going back and forth on where to stay. In the end, I found a way to stay 4 nights and we split it between Epcot resort (BC) and MK resort (GF). It worked out great - we did Epcot while at BC and then MVMCP while at GF.

CR is definitely not my favorite resort, however, we just stayed there last weekend for the very same reason you are going - MVMCP one night and EP the next day. It was SUPER convenient to be able to walk back to CR after the party and monorail to EP the next day. For this particular trip, I would pick CR.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the input! I am leaning more and more towards the contemporary I think just for ease of travel to the parks. I really love having the option to walk back to our resort which I why I like the Boardwalk area resorts usually but I think we will be spending more time at MK this trip so CR would really be the most convenient.
Thanks!

Oh man, that is hard. For CR you have the proximity to MK like you said, but also you have the gingerbread house display & treats at contempo cafe (and let's face it, MK holiday treats) being very close by. WL is sooooooooo pretty at Christmas time and I think I'd personally choose it based on that at Christmastime (but I haven't stayed there and don't know how long it takes to get to the parks, when I go in December it's to soak up "christmas spirit"). YC is beautiful, it's my home resort, and obviously my favorite. It is also quite close to Epcot & close-ish to DHS. However, if you're worried about time, I will say it does take up a lot of time to get to & from MK. When I stay at YC I'm in Epcot or at the pool (they have like 4 hot tubs FYI) most of the time.

So allllll that being said....I think I would personally choose WL. Let us know what you decide!

Great choices BTW..

I'd go YC because you will get all the fun of the hustle and bustle of the BW in addition to everything else.. BW is a destination in and of itself and a great one at that, but you have a shorter stay so tough to say because the convenience of walking in to the MK is magical. Yeah, but I'd still go YC.

No matter what you pick I will be freezing in Chi town and wishing I was at the DW.

Have fun!!!

I love the Wilderness Lodge for Christmas, the ambiance cannot be beat. The smell of Christmas is always in the air, and close to MK
