Super Moon photos

Well I had put some of my March 18 supermoon shots in the other supermoon thread, but since this thread seems to be higher up now, I did go out again on March 19 to get a few more shots of the supermoon at apogee. Taken with my A550, Tamron 200-500mm lens at 500mm, with Tamron 2x teleconverter (1000mm optical, times 1.5x crop factor from the camera, total equivalent 1500mm):

And this one at apogee on the 19th:

I started the other thread to ask for advice prior to taking the pictures and everyone gave me their view on the subject of moon shots, good ideas, and great advices. I couldn't have been able to take a pic of the moon if it weren't for you guys so thanks a lot!

These pictures are so detailed! Thank you for sharing them. I just looked through a bit of your gallery, and all I can say is WOW. You are very talented.

Anyone ever try to do an HDR of the moon? It's something I've contemplated ... the moon moves in the sky, of course, but as long as the longest exposure is short enough to avoid any motion blur, using Photoshop's "Align" feature should produce good results. I haven't tried it partly because my longest lens is 200 mm, and I think I'd want at least a 300 to get the moon large enough in the frame.
