Super last minute hotel help needed

I need some of the board's expertise for a situation that may or may not happen.

My friend and I have a budget trip planned for this weekend. We planned to stay with her family, who I have not met.

PROBLEM: she's been sick in bed for the past five days, and there's a chance she won't be healthy in time for our Friday depart time. I'm going regardless, as I have an AP and don't mind going alone. However, I'll have no place to stay, as I don't feel comfortable staying with her family without her. And since I won't find out if she's well enough to go until the day we leave, I won't be able to book a hotel room until then.

With all that being said, what are the best cheap (under $100/night) hotels near Disneyland? I'm not picky; as long as it's not dirty I'm fine with it. Even outside of walking distance is fine with me. I'm really wishing for Castle Inn's $67/night rate they had last November, but alas, they raised their rates by $100/night.

We just returned from our trip a little bit ago. We got the Anaheim Marriott hotel on Priceline for $339 including tax and fees for three nights. It is a 4 star hotel. The only thing about the Marriott is that they charge $28/night for parking, but all together it was still much cheaper than staying anywhere else that wasn't booked on Priceline. I booked it about 36 hours before our arrival.

I would also suggest Priceline. I've found them great when I'm not fussy about where I stay.

I would do the bidding option. Decide what you want to spend, and bid a bit less than that so that the taxes don't put it over. If you think it's too much with the taxes, you can go back to the first page and change your bid.

Choose the highest star level you can to start with, and if you get rejected, you can add the next star level down. I'd say for about $100 you'll probably end up with a 3 1/2 star. If you're really not fussy about where you stay (and would be happy with a Motel 6 or Super 8), then you could get it down much lower than that.

As an example, I got the Marriott Suites for about $75 for one night, and the Red Lion for about $150 for two nights.

Don't be greedy though, because if you get rejected for each star level, you'll have to wait 24 hours before trying again for that location.

Last Minute Travel Club always has good deals and a big variety, from budget motels to high end. Google membership code first to avoid the enrollment fee. I got Stovall's for $83.

Hotel Tonight has had prices as low as $90 on Hotel Menage, and I had $50 in sign up credit, but the hotels are limited and change often.

It is about a 15 min walk and you won't want to do that alone at night, so you would need to arrange to ride ART, or get a cab. You might also want to try the Super 8 at 415 W. Katella. About the same walking distance, but more brightly lit at night.

I second this! I've stayed there before and will be staying there next weekend!!!

I had this booked as a back-up option. Through Priceline I got the Red Lion for about the same price.

We stayed at Peacock Suites on our last trip (thanks to my grandparents' time share), and walked between the hotel and the parks every day, passing the Motel 6 each time. We WISHED we were staying there because it was closer From what I remember about walking to the Peacock Suites, I would not have been worried about walking to and from the Motel 6 on my own (definitely not during the day). There was always a steady stream of people all the way up to Motel 6, especially if you leave after the fireworks or WOC. However, I wouldn't be comfortable walking all the way to Peacock Suites on my own after dark.

However, each person is different, and if you did feel uncomfortable you could definitely catch the ART.

I just checked Hotwire and in the Disneyland north area and they have a 2 star for 83 dollars a night. The description says the hotel has free parking, wifi, breakfast with a kitchen and laundry facilities. Its available right now through next week. You could also try priceline bidding. Priceline is usually cheaper than hotwire. Just make sure with both of them you pick the Disneyland areas only. In this situation, priceline or hotwire is your best bet. I've used both of them before without any issues. Good luck.

I've used Hotwire too before, for accommodation in San Francisco. We were very happy with it. Specifically for Disneyland accommodation though, I prefer Priceline. The Hotwire areas around Disneyland are very large, and you won't necessarily be within walking distance. The Priceline area for Disneyland is smaller and most of the hotels would be within a 20 minute walk, although it does include Garden Grove area hotels too. Hotwire could work out fine for you too though since you don't need to be within walking distance
