Materials:
Light set from Home Depot ($12.99)
Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Sharpie
round shape to trace such as a glass tumbler
sharp scissors
Colored plastic balls (I used balls that we had leftover from a ball pit that the kids used to have. They worked well as the plastic was thin and easy to cut and the colors matched fairly closely)
Time about 1/2 hour
Step One
Take one of the jelly balls off of the light
Step two
Using Sharpie trace around your glass to get the round shape
(be sure to leave enough jelly material between the light hole and the ears for the ball to maintain its form)
Step three
Trace again on opposite side keeping things symmetrical
Step four
Use sharp scissors to cut the circles out on both sides
Step five
cut a smaller hole out of the balls to let the light shine through
step six
use the hot glue gun to glue the balls into the cut out circles. Hold in place until the glue sets up
Step seven
put the light sockets back in place and plug in. You are done!!!
***Make sure that you pay attention to where the strings are placed to hang the lights as you want them to hang properly when done.***
Most importantly Have Fun!!!
