We leave in 16 days! Woohoo! And for the second year in a row, my dh will be at a Disney park on Super Bowl Sunday.
I didn't realize it (again) when I picked the dates, and he's being a good sport, but . . . I might cut him some slack and let him skip out of the parks to go watch. ;)
Where would be a good place for him to watch it other than just the boring hotel room? We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside and only have Disney Transportation. I'm sure he would like to watch it somewhere fun, but not TOO packed and crazy. Neither of us have been to WDW in 20+ years, so suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks!

Thanks!

The ESPN club along the Boardwalk will televise the game; of course it's going to be packed and crazy.

When we were there last year we were staying at the YC and the lounge was showing the game.I'm not sure how packed it was. We had concierge and the CL club had a Superbowl party where I watched the game. I would guess most of the lounges at the deluxe properties would show the game?

Agreed! We were there on Superbowl Sunday last year and ESPN had a line out the door by 11am. It was CRAZY!

I'd also suggest finding a good lounge in one of the resorts or a good pool bar with a TV. I'm thinking Tambu Lounge in the Poly, Crew Cup in Yacht Club, or the Territory Lounge in WL might be good spots to start.

If he wants to stay close to "home",I'm sure POR will have it on(with some kind of "party atmosphere")in the Lounge.:)

we've watched a lot of sporting events at riverside - the bar is great - and the servers are very cooperative - they'll probalby have something special - we usually make a mnf game - and sometimes sunday games - though espn would be cool - just remind him of the atmosphere of watching in a relaxing place - and it's wdw -

and the wings are fantastic there!!

Watched a Colts/Dolphins October game in the POR bar once, and it was actually pretty enjoyable with the fans that were present (50/50). I would imagine they'll kick it up a notch for Super Bowl.

GO COLTS!

Thanks! Staying at POR to watch sounds fun. And they have good wings?? I might have to stay and watch it with him! Maybe Grandma will hang at the pool with the kids!

Also, the Food Court is just a few steps away from the Lounge,so if there is something there you really like, you can take it to the Lounge to eat.:)

Just be sure to order drinks or something from your server and tip them well.:)

The POR Lounge area is really nice.:)

Definitely at the Boardwalk in the ESPN Center. It is located at the Epcot Resort area and you can probably just catch a bus to Epcot then go walk between the UK and France Pavillions, you will see a gift shop and just ask to go through the gates there and you can walk over to the BW the ESPN Center is the first builing at the resort. He will love it!:thumbsup2

My DH is worried about where to watch the Super Bowl as well. We are staying at CSR, does anyone know if they will do anything in the lounge there?

"MOST likely",but not guaranteed.:)

If he wants to be in a HUGE "party atmosphere",ESPN Club is about the only on-property locale that can provide that.:)

We were there last year too and I didn't realize it until it was too late! Oh and we are from Pittsburgh to boot and I had no idea they were even eligible for the playoffs last year! Anyway, DH isn't a football fan, but we heard of a lot of people going to the ESPN club last year. Although at 9am we heard that there was already a line. So if he goes somewhere he better go early!

I'm sure every bar will be playing it. ESPN Club has the most TV's and the best "game day" food, but it will be very crowded.

I just wanted to add another, possibly less-crowded option, would be the ESPN Sports Cafe at ESPN Wide World of Sports.:)

Disney bus transportation to ESPN Wide World of Sports is available at Disney's Hollywood Studios.:)

Definitely ESPN or Big River on the BW, but he could also try somewhere in the Swan or Dolphin
