Obviously I realize I can watch it in our cabin at FW, but can you come up with a better recommendation? It is mostly for our 8 year old son who decided this year to buck our non-sport enthusiast family and fall in love with football. This will be our last day of a 12 day trip and after a late night at the P&P party. Any ideas for a relaxed kid friendly place to watch the game? I'm guessing the cabin will have a standard tv, and I was hoping for a place where everyone could have something to do, even those of us not so interested in the game (me!).

Don't know if you like this suggestion, but there was a big TV set up (or perhaps already there) near the Tambu lounge and 'Ohanas at the Poly, and people were crowded around that to watch. I'm sure some were waiting for their dinner ressies but others might just have been there hanging out and watching.

There's always the ESPN Club on the Boardwalk, but give that its hard to get in there for a normal game, you'd probably have to plant yourself before noon to see the game there...

I watched the Super Bowl from Planet Hollywood a couple years ago. Wasn't that crowded either.

Given we're talking about an 8 year old.....boomhauer's suggestion is, IMHO, the best one. There's also a couple lobbies with good sized TV's, usually showing kids movies, but I've been told they get switched over to the game when it's on...but I'm not sure if that's true of ALL of them.

ESPN club is the single best option on property, but it's PACKED on Superbowl Sunday, from opening onward pretty much, and I'm not sure it would be real appropriate for an 8 year old. Maybe....I don't remember very well, which might tell you all you need to know. :)

OH I know about ESPN Club! We stayed at BW once during the same time. It was nuts!

I like the Planet Hollywood Idea. The kids have never been there, and they'll get a kick out of the memorabilia and getting to eat appetizers. Any tips on scoring a table near a tv, or are they everywhere? We've stayed away because of the generally bad reviews, so I'm not familiar with the layout.

How about All Star Cafe at Wide World of Sports.
Any resort lounge should have the game on since it is the biggest game of the day and the only one on.
Watched the Pats/Chargers game at River Roost in Port Orleans Riverside in Sept.
GO PATS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 19-0

Can anyone confirm if all tables in Planet Hollywood are in view of a tv? Also, do they take reservations? I am trying to scoop out a spot to watch the superbowl.

If you pay for our gas and an offsite hotel, my husband and I will gladly drive down there and babysit your son in the cabin while the rest of you go out to the parks. You spring for some money for burgers and dogs and charcoal and we'll even feed him at the cabin.

Not want to watch the Super Bowl?! ACK! :rotfl:

If you feel like venuring off-property, I'd recommend one of the Orlando Ale House locations. I know of one on Kirkman near Universal, and another one near the airport. They have great food, and great atmosophere. Probably will be crowded on Super Bowl Sunday, thought, so i'd get there early.
