We've decided to host a Super Bowl party, and here's what I've got planned so far:

Pizza (cut into appetizer sized pieces)
cheese dip
sausage dip
buffalo chicken dip
salsa
blt dip
meatballs
mini candy apples
chocolate dipped potato chips

I'll probably buy some cookies at Wal Mart, but do I need any other sweets? Anybody have any good ideas for easy, yummy party foods?

I see you have a lot of dips, but I made this recipe on Christmas Eve and it was quite the hit.

Pizza Dip!

* 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
* 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
* 1 c. shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
* 3/4 c. shredded (not grated) Parmesan
* 8 oz. pizza sauce
* 2 Tbsp. chopped green pepper (optional)
* 2 Tbsp. chopped green onion (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 (F). Combine cream cheese and Italian seasoning in a bowl, mix thoroughly. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly on the bottom of a 1 qt. casserole dish. In another small bowl, combine 3/4 c. mozzarella with the parmesan, sprinkle over cream cheese mixture. Spread pizza sauce over the cheeses. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella over top. Finish with green onions and green peppers (other toppings may work, as well - feel free to try!). Bake at 350 (F) for 15-18 minutes, or until cheese has completely melted and is bubbling. Serve with french bread for dipping.

What about a veggie tray or fruit skewers?

I should be in Arkansas about that time, just let me know what time to stop in;)

Last time I had any kind of football party I had chili in a crockpot. Instead of bowls, I did big wide mouth cups and then put out little bowls of toppings.

If you want something else sweets, do an easy batch of brownies.

Sounds great! I'll have to try it either at the party or some other time!

I'll probably do a veggie tray & olive plate, but I forgot to list them. Fruit skewers is a great idea. Thanks & come on by. Just follow the smell of the food!

Bacon wrapped water chestnuts

1 lb of bacon cut in half
2 cans whole water chestnuts

Wrap the water chestnuts with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Back at 350F for 20 min then drain off the grease.

Sauce:
1/3 c.chili sauce
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. mayo

Mix together and pour over water chestnuts. Place back in the oven for 15-20 min.

These are really good and easy to make. If you Google "bacon water chestnuts" you will find a few variations on the sauce.

I like everything you have listed and think I'll take some of your ideas for my next party. I do a Superbowl party every year and here is my menu.

One of my favorites to offer my guests is a crock pot full of boneless pork butt I find on sale somewhere, a can of beer and a bottle of Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce on potato rolls which keeps from the beginning straight through 1/2 time.

Buffalo Chicken wings with Ranch dressing and Blue cheese on the side and some "Oven Fry" Sweet & Sour wings also that are offered during 1/2 time.

A salad with multiple dressings

A tray of different cold cuts and rolls with condiments which keep the whole day.

Chips

Lots of beer and soda

For dessert:

Home baked chocolate chip Toll House cookies

Pretzel logs dipped in melted chocolate chips (microwave chips in 15 second increments then stir in a coffee mug for height)

Like Tina said, whip up a batch of brownies. Brownies from a mix (Pillsbury, Duncan Hines, etc.) are always a hit at parties.

One year, my SIL threw a Super Bowl and made fresh turkey sandwiches. She roasted a large turkey breast the day before, then sliced it up the next morning. She used good white bread, mayonnaise, lettuce and salt/pepper for the sandwiches. She cut them in half diagonally, and stacked them up on a platter.

Spinach dip made with Knorr's and served in a bread bowl is always good too.

For my super bowl party I always have the basics wings (from wing stop) and a pot of chil( in the crock), and several appitizers. But I also have food from the cities that are in the super bowl. Last year I had tacos for Phoenix and Primatti Brother sandwiches for Pittsburgh.

I normally go through 2 pans of brownies. So I agree about needing sweets.

I know you have a lot of dips, but the jalapeno popper dip that was posted on here a while ago is perfect football food. I also always have drunk dawgs for football parties.

beer and pizza and buffalo wings. anything else is over doing it.
