Just wondering if any fellow Disers are going to the Super Bowl. We are going, much to my dismay. My DH rarely ever asks to go anywhere so I had to do this for him.
I have no idea what else there is to do in Houston! The AOL Houston message board is not an active board! No first hand info.
We had to book Fri.-Tues. so we are there a few days.
Any ideas??
Thanks:sunny:

There are several Houston DISers...but they might pay more attention if you posted the thread like "Houston DISers....please help me with ideas of what to do in your city." Just an idea

Well I am totally jealous!!:p I would love to have an opportunity to attend a Super Bowl! You are very lucky to be going! Have a great time with your DH!! :)

Thanks Beanie. I'm trying to get excited. DH is excited beyond belief!
Becki, that's probably a good idea, I will change the heading. Thanks.

Cheryl,

SSB has been to a slew of sports events... but those Super Bowls are very special, indeed. From the time that you arrive at the airport.... there is no mistake that you are at a major event.

Have been lucky enough to attend two, and the best was two years ago when Patriots beat the Rams in New Orleans.... the city was crazy anyway as Mardi Gras still going on (Super Bowl moved date due to 9/11)... had slews of volunteers giving out special SB beads as you came through the airport, giving all kinds of info on the city, and events around... was very cool.

The actual "game" is quite wild, due to the celebrities around and all... as well as the "feel". U2 was the half time entertainment, and were FANTASTIC... wish they were the ones performing again this year.

Do hope that you find some fun things to do while there... please let us know how it goes!!!!

Thanks Bob. I really wish it was in New Orleans this year!!!
Funny thing was that we were supposed to go the year it was in NO, but we had a short cruise booked the following weekend. After they changed the date we couldn't go to the SB!
I'm starting to get excited.:sunny:
