This has to be one of the best championship pictures of any sport I've ever seen!!

I was rooting for the Colts and thought the onside kick was a great move.
It shocked the Colts and closed the door on them.
You couldn't stop the Saints after that.

Thank you for posting this! This photo is incredible!!

The Colts came out strong last night; it was a good game. If it had ended after the first half, they would have won. Good thing for the Saints we had a second half to play. :)

I want to watch it again now that I know the ending!

Frankly, I think it is very fitting that the trophy, named after a coach who so famously said, "Winning isn't everything - it is the ONLY thing" was denied to a team (OK, owner and general manager) who decided in Week 16 that they didn't need to win anymore.

Wonder if Irsay and Polian's butts are sore this morning - from all those Karma bites. I hope they learn that you win by winning, not by losing.

As for the Saints, CONGRATULATIONS!!! What a great boost to a great city, especially after all the tragedy and suffering of Katrina. Being a Purdue alumnus, I have followed Drew Brees longer than most Saints fans, back when he wore the Black and Gold for the Boilermakers, not New Orleans, and I knew he is a class act. I am very happy he was able to lead his team to Super Bowl victory.

All in all, a good game, and despite all the "trash talk" beforehand, a game with relatively few penalties. Both teams played well, it was exciting and fun.

Oh I'm here, sorry I couldn't get here faster, I was actually watching the whole post game celebrations and not rushing to get on the computer.

Congrats to the Saints!!! The real test for them is going to be next year to see if this season was a one time thing or not. The onside kick was dirty, I can't believe they would do that in the Super Bowl down by 4 with a half left, I lost some respect for the Saints there. I didn't think the game was that good, but Im sure all of you Saints fans did;)

And now that the NFL season is over there's only 10 days untill spring training:dance3:

I was just messing with you about not being on here- I had no doubt you would be back to congratulate our team on an amazing game!!!

And, like I said before, the onside kick was an example of the gutsiest play calling I've ever seen. Let it be a testament to Peyton Manning that the Saints had to pull out all the stops to beat them.

As far as losing respect for the Saints, give me a break. You never had any to begin with- that was obvious from your incessant postings on here about how they were going to get killed. I will chalk up your postings to sour grapes and give you a pass....

Thank you for this! Drew Brees is a wonderful example to say many people, especially to kids...I was just telling my 10 year old son this morning about how everybody said Drew was "tooshort, not good enough, etc." and through hard work and perseverance look where he is now. Purdue should be proud this morning for helping to shape the career of an amazing man!!!

Congratulations to the Saints.

I got the score almost exact but I got the wrong names by the scores!

The Saints had a great game plan and the onside kick was a complete shock but very effective. I believe it was the turning factor in the game. It took the wind out of the Colts.

No way because the Giants are gonig to be back in it next year once they get all of their defense back!!!

You should really quit while you're ahead. I'm sure even some Colts fans are having a good laugh at your expense now.

The onside kick is being hailed as a brilliant move by everyone except bitter Colts fans (you). The Colts were outcoached and outplayed.

You're not kidding anyone about losing respect for the Saints. You never had it. All the sweeter, though :). As I tell my 9 year old son, people don't respect a person who can't admit when they're wrong.

As for sissy moves, I think it's pretty sissy to sit your QB once you know you've made the playoffs, and to throw your towel down in disgust when your kicker misses a 50+ yard field goal ;).

As I suspected it was a great game though. The Colts are a fabulous team with a lot of star players. I'm glad Joseph Addai is doing so well. I was a huge fan of his at LSU and I continue to be.

I had respect for the Saints, just not as much respect as I did for the Colts. I agree that the call was gutsy, I just didn't agree with it, but hey what do I know;)

I don't care if Colts fans are laughing at me because once again I AM NOT A COLT FAN!!! Yes, I wanted them to win but Im not a fan of the team and now that the SB is over I can get back to looking forward to the next season and the Giants getting their defense back.

congrats to all the saints fans here. i wanted the saints to win but i didnt think they were going to do it.

Oh what a glorious game it was!! The parade was great too. Only lasted about 2 minutes but was FULL of energy. There were Saints fans EVERYWHERE at WDW. That includes BEFORE the Superbowl. ;)

This thread also cracks me up. Some people are just unbelievable losers. :rolleyes1 Good sportsmanship are the ones who gave a genuine "congrats". Others are just full of excuses.

Wish I could have been there.

I have to admit that I am a Panthers fan first, and then second to that I cheer for the Colts and the Saints. I cheer for the Saints (and LSU) because I was born and raised in Louisiana until DH's work moved us in 2002. I cheer for the Colts because I totally respect Tony Dungy, and I think Peyton Manning is one of the greatest football players of all time. Needless to say, I was thrilled with the super bowl! It could not have been any better for me unless our Panthers had been there playing. We hold season tickets for the Panthers so they are my favorite team!
I just had to jump in and say, to be fair, that the Saints did sit Drew Brees out. I was quite bummed by that, too. Since we are season ticket holders, I went to the Saints vs. Panthers game on January 3. It was the last game of the regular season. I had hoped to see Drew Brees play, but the Saints sat him on the bench the whole game. I understood why, of course. I am just saying that they did sit their QB.

I posted this in the Metro N.O. thread, but I'm just so darn excited I'm posting it everywhere...look what visited our school today (I'm a 1st grade teacher)!!! I'm on the right...
