Super 8 Motels

In my great search for a suitable hotel in Anaheim (under $80 per room per night (2nd to 5th July) and less than 20 mins to walk to the park and preferably with a pool) I have now pretty much settled on one of the Super 8 Motels, but before I go ahead and book, thought I would check my choice with the knowledgeable Dis-people.
So would anyone advise against this choice, or suggest a better choice that I may have overlooked? My main reservation at the moment is that in one (admittedly of over 100) reviews I read someone mentioned they had an ant problem, and wondered if this could also carry over into a roach problem. I am very phobic about those, and have eliminated all the hotels with a review that mentioned any at all.

Also, there seems to be a North Super 8 that is pretty close to the parking garage and shuttle to the parks from there, or a Southern one where we would just walk to the gate. Appart from the obvious convenience of the southern one in this regard, does anyone know of other reasons to choose one over the other?

We just got back last night and we stayed at the Super 8 on Katella. For the price we paid ($124 for two nights, including tax) I was very pleased. We saw no ants whatsoever. Our TV wasn't getting good reception when we got there but we called the front desk and they sent the maintenance man right away and he spent a good 15-20 minutes at least fine tuning it until he got it to come in. I was surprised because I half expected the front desk to say "Sorry, that's as good as we can get it" LOL. We were traveling with 15 month old twins and requested a crib and it was in the room when we got there. It wasn't exactly the most sturdy crib but I dont' think many of those portable ones are :) The room was quiet. The continental breakfast didn't have a lot to offer, but it was enough to get us started :) And we walked to Disney, no problem.

Thanks. It is very reassuring to hear from someone who has been there that it is ok. I think I have read too many reviews and managed to worry myself over nothing.

I just booked the HoJo for $59.00 a night in June, right across the street. (5 min. walk to main gate) I had to call the hotel dirctly, not the 800 number. I used the entertainment card rate. I would say it is a big step up from the Super 8.

Is the entertainment card rate the one displayed on the entertainment.com website? If so, it is still not very affordable for the dates we're there--possibly because it includes the 4th of July. Thanks for the suggestion though, I agree that the HoJo would have been a much nicer option if if we could have managed the price you're getting it for.

No, you must call the hotel direct - not the 800 number. Ask for the enertainment rate, I also asked if that was the best rate available. Also request a room away from the freeway. I found the phone number on the HoJo web site. Good luck!
