Sunwing Airlines Sale

Not sure if there is a thread on this or not, but Sunwing has a sale on right now and for Orlando it is buy one get one 20% off. I priced them out and for us - 2 adults and a 5 year old, it will cost us 997. Now just have to run this by DH and see if he wants to fly Sunwing or from Buffalo for 597 USD.

Rats...I went to check it out and they don't have the dates I need.

Air Canada and West Jet are incredibly expensive right now for Sept. I missed a seat sale about 4 weeks ago because my travel buddy didn't have her passport yet (this after nagging her for 2 years to get one because this trip was coming up!!!)

Am now thinking about Buffalo but still not sure yet. <sigh>

I vote for buffalo. There are lots of us who fly out of there if you have any questions or concerns about it.

One factor in my decision these days is luggage allowance. Sunwing is low because they are a charter, 2 bags total of 44lbs for both bags. Other carriers are also going down to one bag but allow it to be 50lbs and are not charging as much for extra pieces as sunwing does. Not an issue for everyone, but usually is for me!

*** sigh*** rates are gone up already! It is now over 1K for us. Though it is only a difference of 30 bucks, it still pushes it over the magic number (1K) which makes the decision to fly out of Bufalo even easier, lol.

I don't know whether to wait and see if the rates out of Toronto will go down or buy tickets now to fly out of Buffalo.

If I wait too long, the cheap seats for Buffalo will be gone but the worse thing to happen would be to buy the tickets to fly out of Buffalo and then have a Toronto seat sale happen.

I love the ease of flying out of Buffalo, much smaller airport, duty free at the boarder, shopping pre-flight at the Walden Gallaria All good reasons to fly out of Buffalo.

I just find Pearson a nightmare, but that might just be me.

The way I look at it, even if the prices from TO go down, it still won't beat BUF prices. Granted, factoring in gas prices and time, it might not be such a great deal, but as PP said, SHOPPING.....

To be honest....thats very,very unlikely.If anything its going to go up even more due to the damn fuel surcharge that seems to be increasing rappidly.

I don't know if it's fate playing a practical joke on me or what but I went to Southwest's site to FINALLY buy the tickets. I gave in...but after I put my credit card in, the site went kablewy. I can't get back on. I'll try again.... maybe somebody's trying to tell me something. LOL

Update: still can't get onto southwest's site. I think it's fate.

It may be down because they are uploading the next batch of fares....or maybe down for maintenance.

Ok, just did it. Finally got our tickets. Our first time flying out of Buffalo. I'm going to rely on the Disboard people to walk me through everything. LOL

First question... do any of the hotels have covered parking?

Oh, btw, we got 2 fares for $510 total. We're flying out on Sept 5 on the morning nonstop flight. We'll have time to visit the WORLD since it arrives so early in the day. Woohooo

I don't think any of the parksleepfly hotels offer covered parking.
