Sunset lakes? Is it a nice community, close to parks?

We are booking a house at Sunset Lakes. Has anyone stayed here? Is it a nice area, close to the parks?

What is the community pool like? There is a pool in the house but was wondering what the community pool was like.

Hi!

We've stayed in Sunset Lakes every year since 2004. (except for this year due to my unemployment) And, we're booked for next December. It's only my DH and myself but we always stay in the same 4 bedroom house because we love it so much.

Sunset Lakes is a wonderful small community around a man-made lake. We've never used the community pool as we love having our own pool. It's very quiet and peaceful, nice to get away from the parks, but it's also very close to WDW resort. It's far enough off of 192 so you don't get the noise, but Funie Steed road connects through so you can take Sherberth Road onto the resort and that takes you right to the Animal Kingdom. We only ever take 192 if we want to go to a restaurant on it. There's a very nice Publix 5 minutes away too.

Any other questions, feel free. As I'm sure you can tell, I'm a big fan of Sunset Lakes.

Hi, not much to add. We live there 3 months a year and agree with all above...very private, gated access, simple but very nice homes, great location. Community pool is small, unheated and mostly for use in the summer.
Most pools in locations without condos are pretty simple and basic. You will love the pool at your home.

I would definately live here if we were year round residents.

To Disney is easy. Turn right on Funie Steed, left on Formosa Gardens Blvd to 192. Turn right. You can use the Sherberth Road entrance off 192 about a mile east. However it can get backed up and the light takes forever to give you a left turn arrow. If traffic is moving OK just stay on 192 a couple of miles to the big Disney entrance on the right.

To exit Disney, however, we always use Sherberth Road. From any where in Disney follow signs to ANIMAL KINGDOM. (watch for smaller signs and Be ready to take some quick right turns off the main roads in Disney) As you approach AK stay LEFT to Animal Kingdom LODGE. At the stoplight turn left on SHERBERTH ROAD. Take Sherberth all the way to 192, right to Formosa Gardens and you are on your way home.

We stayed there last Feb for our first ever family trip to WDW. We loved it. It is quiet and an easy drive to the parks. DH would run out at night and do our grocery shopping and it took no time at all. We never used the community pool because the house we rented had their own. DH is a fishing nut and fished every morning before the kids were even up and caught the largest bass of his life. I don't think he will ever stay anywhere else!
