I read that they have character meals and was wondering how's the food and prices? Has anyone been there? Are reservations requested?

thanks..

I like the Sunset Grill a lot, but I suspect that, at dinner at least, the cuisine will not be to everyone's taste.

Breakfast is pretty standard fare, although there's a lot more variety and choice than you'll see at many other places.

Lunch is on the light side, with some very nice sandwiches. The entrees are excellent.

Dinner on the other hand is what you might call "serious" contemporary cuisine -- unusual combinations of ingredients and flavors -- that might not please the younger palate. Things like seared scallops over "heirloom" beans and striped bass served with spicy black lentil cakes and a curried yogurt sauce. It's very good, mind you, but I think the meat-and-potatoes, Mom's-home-cooking type of diner might find their choices limited. There's a kids menu, of course, so that's probably the safest bet.

If they are serving their "flatbreads" at dinner, they are worth a try. They are sort of like pizzas on pita (although it's not really pita bread, just something similar).

Dinner prices are moderately expensive by Orlando standards (which means they are cheap by New York standards).

When I was last there the dinner prices ran something like this:

Flatbreads $8 to $9
Appetizers $7 to $13
Entrees $14 to $26
Desserts $5
