Can DVC members do the sunrise safari at AKL? My daughter just started college and is studying zoology. I thought this would be a great treat.

The Sunrise Safari is only available to guests staying in a Concierge Level room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge or Villas.

Safari is Sundays and Thursdays only. Need to stay the day before and some say that day to book.

If you stay either the night before the Safari or the day of the Safari you are eligible. It is not easy to get an AKV concierge room at 7 months, but it can be done. During our upcoming stay at BWV we managed to get an AKV concierge room for one night just for the Sunrise Safari. We probably won't sleep in the room because it isn't worth the hassle to bring our stuff.

You could just pay cash to DRC and get the AKL -Concierge room for two nights.

I did it in June 2008 (staying in a concierge 1 bedroom) and it was awesome!

If you can't get a Concierge room to book the Sunrise Safari, you may want to take a look at the Backstage Safari Tour, I think it would cover more of what she might want to see.

I would also like to go on the safari our next trip. I was wondering what amenities were available when staying concierge at the villas? Mainly I am asking about the food ,breakfast,snacks and drinks.Was wondering if it is worth the extra points for a few nights. Wouldnt want to switch for just a night.
