Sunrise Safari at AK?

Anyone done this? I just saw it on the travel channel. Is it sonething you book sepcially? If so, what does it cost?

it is something you can only book if you are staying concierge. The price would be the cost of upgrading to concierge and then I think $47 per adullt.

You've got to get up very early for this one! They told us to be in the lounge at 6:30 AM!

They only do it on a few days of the week too I think. Sunday for sure.
I'm looking forward to it! It will be our last full day in FL. NICE way to end our stay.

we did this in march..... we did have to wake up very earily but it is well worth it!!!! we signed in the concierge level lobby and had breakfast and then met the group in the main lobby then to our bus we divided up into 2 groups then we went in the back way to ak while it is closed..... we got to see were they keep the animals at night and we got on the kilamanjaro safari ride still while the park is closed..... our guide was very informative and she stopped the jeep at every animal so we can stand up and take pics and video... we got excellent pics!! and after that we went to a resturant called tusker house and had a great brunch!!!! wow the food was excellent!!! so i think it was well worth it!!! and we did the safari on a thurs. morning hope it helps ...... vicki

I just wanted to clarify that you have to be staying at the concierge level for AKL too sign up. AKL also offers the Wanyama Safari, a tour of the AKL savannahs for their concirge guests. It is followed by a special dinner at Jiko. For concierge guests at other resorts, there is another safari that goes to the wildlife reserve.
