How many of you have a FL Sun Pass? I got one several years back, Its great when towing not having to stop at the toll booths. You can reload it with $$$ at anytime.

Got mine at a CVS in Florida its a SunPass Mini a sticker for the windshield for $5.

I purchased min eat my local Public Grocery store (My CVS no longer was selling them - last November 2011). I bought a 'portable' one that I can move from car to car (Truck) then I went to Sunpass.com and created an account to activate it and registered all my vehicles including my TT. And I set up an automatic $$$ replenishment for the pass. When mine drops below $10.00 Sunpass adds $25.00 and charges my Credit Card.

I live here, so I have one on every vehicle. I got mine at Publix. I personally wouldn't go over to Port Canaveral without one and it certainly saves alot of time and money for me around my area here in Tampa as well. :)

We bought one about 10 years ago. We followed friends to spend a day at Disney. They arrived 15 mins before us and that convinced us. Keep in mind this was before they opened the new lanes where you don't have to stop or slow down. Definitely worth it for us.

I have used one the last two trips and I enjoy using it.

I am probably overreacting but when I am towing my pup with my 'burban I HATE coming to a complete stop and then starting again. I think I use a gallon of gas each way.

So I just cruise through the stops like a local. If you head down to Dade County (Miami). All they allow is Sunpass (no humans staffing a tollbooth). The little window sticky type costs $5 but gives you an equal credit so it's essentially free.

So if you go down once every other year or so why wouldn't you use it?

Wow..this could have been my post! This has been a lifesaver for us!

1) Pay $5 for the sticker.
2) Get $5 in toll credit.
3) Thus, it is free to start.
4) Buy it
. . . any Publix grocery store
. . . many Walmarts
. . . by mail order

EDIT: I hate waiting in toll lines, so SunPass works great for us.

How far ahead of time do I need to order the pass. We leave in just over 50 days.

No less than 3-4 days. I would even get it a week out. We made the mistake of getting one when we got down there and we had to wait 24 hours for it to start working.

Tigger,
I would go ahead and buy it now. Then you will have plenty of time to set up your online account and fill it with what you need (filling it can wait until a couple of days before you leave). The website has a calculator where you can calculate how much to put in the account. We just put enough to get us there and back, plus a little cushion. On the main toll road you will need to slow down when going through the booth, but not stop. If you take 429 down to the west gate, you don’t even need to slow down. You can go faster and it saves you money!!!! WHAT A GREAT COUNTRY!!

I just ordered mine yesterday and am looking forward to using it.

If you just screw up and get in the wrong lane they will waive you through just like you have one:confused3

If you're in an RV with a car in tow, I would opt for the more expensive version. It allows you to transfer it or take it down when you don't need it. I was never very fond of the stupid little sticker on the inside of the windshield. And you're supposed to place it next to your rear view mirror.

Does it work with a motorhome towing a car? I would love the sunpass mini as spending $25 for the sun pass would not be worth it to us.
